Oranjestad, Aruba (AHN) - An attorney in Aruba confirms a man has been indicted in the case of missing Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway.

Guido Wever, 18, will appear in court Tuesday in the Netherlands, to answer charges of murder and manslaughter stemming from the May, 2005 disappearance.

But:

(CNN) -- A man indicted in the Netherlands on murder charges in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba will be released Tuesday but must remain available for questioning, the man's attorney said.

Holloway Suspect Fights Extradition - Parents Warn Press

The Aruban boy who was apprehended last week in Utrecht is trying to prevent his extradiction to Aruba. His lawyer Gerard Spong has herefore started summary proceedings against the State. This procedure will be adressed in court in The Hague on Tuesday.

According to Spong his client is accused of being principal in the second degree of murder, severe assault and deprivation of liberty of Natalee Holloway. The American student disappeared during a holiday with her classmates on Aruba in the night of may 29nth to may 30th last year. She has been without trace since then.

The new suspect is acquainted with Joran van der Sloot, who was the first to be accussed in having had a role in Holloway's disappearence. Van der Sloot has admitted that he kept the girl company on the night of her disappearence but has denied having done anything wrong. He remains a principal suspect in this notorious case.

Witness

The new suspect is a friend of Van der Sloot. He was a croupier in the hotel where Holloway stayed. The boy was arrested by request of the Aruban Prosecution Counsel. In an earlier stage of the investigation he was already interrogated several times as a witness. He is the tenth to be arrested in the Holloway case.

The (divorced) parents of the new suspect have issued a statement in English through the law firm of Spong. They express horror over their sons arrest. “This came like a bolt from the blue”. They trust on a positive ending. “We are all innocent untill proven guilty. That also counts for our son”.

Warning

The statement also contains a warning to the media. Especcially the American media has in the past thrown themselves like vultures on the case. The parents of the new suspect state that they will legally prosecute by whatever means necessary every media that goes too far in their eyes. They will defend themselves in every confrontation with the press.

The Utrecht police made an arrest last wednesday in the case of missing Natalee Holloway. It concerns an Aruban youngster who worked as a croupier in the hotel where the American student stayed.

The arrestee is held in Utrecht and suspected of kidnapping and murder. His lawyer Spong will try to prevent his extradiction to Aruba with summary proceedings.

In june last year, a month after Natalees disappearence, the suspect came to the Netherlands. He had already been questioned several times. He is a friend of Joran van der Sloot, who had been incarcerated for some time as the prime suspect in this case.

In the main two news shows in the Netherlands, the NOS News and the RTL News it was reported tonight that an arrest was made in the Natalee Holloway case. The suspect who was arrested in the Netherlands is being charged with murder. According to his lawyer Gerard Spong he is being charged with the severest accusation known in Dutch criminal law. His first name is said to be Guido and he's acquainted with Joran van der Sloot. Guido worked as a croupier in one of the hotel casinos on the island when Natalee disappeared. He was questioned several times by the Aruban police force before he traveled to the Netherlands. In the Netherlands he was also questioned by the Dutch police.

Natalee Holloway Update

Unclear of the source for this below. However, as I posted before, there was an altercation at C and C the night Natalee disappeared. But I was told by someone there that the Kalpoes were involved and it was over a spilled drink, nothing to do with Natalee Holloway. I was also told of an altercation the previous night when a tall Dutch kid, not Joran, approached Natalee and groped her while she was dancing. That would fit with part of this report below.

My info did come from individuals present at C and C both nights.

GVC was bothering Natalee on Friday night at Carlos N Charlies. She was dancing with another classmate and this guy (GVC) came up behind her and started humping and grinding on her back and groping her body. She turned around and yelled at him to leave her alone so he left.

Dompig - My Son Misled ALE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 25 (UPI) -- The former leader of Aruba's investigation of the disappearance of Alabamian Natalee Holloway says his son falsely accused a man who was released Monday.

Gerold Dompig said accusations of his son, Michael, against Geoffrey van Cromvoirt, 19, were part of a dispute among acquaintances that escalated out of control.

"He's a kid; he got confused and frustrated and he said things he shouldn't have said," Dompig told the Birmingham (Ala.) News. "It went too far."

Dompig said his son -- angered by media accusations -- responded with talk he had heard about van Cromvoirt.

"One started talking about the other and the other talked back and it becomes something worse than a soap (opera)," Dompig said.

Dompig said he apologized to van Cromvoirt's family and requested reassignment earlier this month since talk about Holloway's nearly year-old disappearance adversely affected his family.

Holloway's mother said she believes the three original suspects are at fault in Holloway's disappearance.
