Natalee Holloway Case To Re-open?

Is this the guy Van der Sloot threw wine on in a recent TV event in Holland? Damn. Strange case - just doesn't want to go away. The question is, is this valid, or a troll for a TV special? Maybe they have someone on camera saying something. Or, could be they simply offer more speculation.

GRETA! Sorry about that election coverage, dear. Actually, Fox is getting worse and worse with the whole crime thing. Anyway, stay tuned.

After a Dutch journalist declared that his private investigation had solved the mysterious disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, the chief prosecutor in Aruba announced today that he is reopening the case.

Van der Sloot Confronts ReporterReporter Peter R. de Vries said he used a sophisticated network of hidden cameras in what he called an "undercover operation" to obtain evidence that he claimed "has solved the mystery" of Holloway's disappearance on May 30, 2005.

He credited de Vries with uncovering the leads and said, "This information may help considerably in the solution of the mystery of Natalee's disappearance."

De Vries said that he and his team had been conducting an undercover operation for several months, and that he would broadcast his findings in a special program on Dutch television this Sunday.

Natalee Holloway Case Officially Closed

Unfortunately, this doesn't come as much of a surprise. I figured they were giving it one last go for a public relations move.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Authorities have closed the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and do not have evidence to charge anyone, the prosecutors' office said Tuesday.

The three young men who were last seen with the Alabama teenager have all been notified that they will not be charged, the Public Prosecutor's Office said.

"The public prosecutor's office and the police have gone the extra mile and have exhausted all their powers and techniques in order to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the girl," it said.

The three suspects — a Dutch college student and two Surinamese brothers — were seen leaving a bar with Holloway the night she disappeared in May 2005. Police re-arrested them last month in a last-ditch effort to solve the case, but prosecutors said the men did not provide any new information under interrogation.

Natalee Holloway Search To Be Resumed

Not sure what to make of this, Father of Natalee Holloway, Dave Holloway, intends to resume the search for Natalee's remains by concentrating on deeper water. This on the heels of the re-arrests of the three primary suspects. Also, Joran Van Der Sloot should be in Aruba within days, a judge has approved his transport.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - The father of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway will relaunch a search for evidence of her remains in waters off Aruba, he said Thursday after police re-arrested three suspects in her 2005 disappearance.

While authorities searched the sea to depths of 330 feet, Dave Holloway told The Associated Press that he believes his 18-year-old daughter was thrown into deeper waters - a belief based on talks with a police official and a private forensic expert.

Holloway said a private boat owner is providing divers, sonar equipment and the ability to map the ocean floor.

"It's like this: we've searched all the land areas ... It's common knowledge on the island that if someone were to dispose of the body, it would be out in the ocean," he said by telephone

Holloway said he would alert police on the Dutch Caribbean island if anything is found.

Suspects In Natalee Holloway Disappearance Re-arrested

Update: I haven't been following this, but some people who have may be found here - scroll down. Registration required to comment.

Just heard this on the car radio while driving. Huh? Hard to know if this is another quirk of the Dutch judicial system allowing more investigation, or if someone finally talked and the jig, as they say, is up.

The Associated Press is reporting police have once again arrested three suspects in the 2005 disappearance of then 18-year-old Alabama high schooler Natalee Holloway. Those arrested were Dutch teen Joran van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers named Satish and Deepak Kalpoe.

Update: Extradited? Hmm.  No doubt Google News will eventually have more. Previous extended coverage of the crime is here.

Van der Sloot was arrested in the Netherlands, where he is attending a university, and is expected to be extradited to this Dutch Caribbean island. The Kalpoe brothers were arrested in Aruba.

Bill O'Reilly OD's On Natalee Holloway Hype

Based upon news accounts, it would seem Fox host Bill O'Reilly managed to not only beat a dead horse, he also beat up on a dead girl with this bit of unconfirmed and possibly unconfirmable nonsense on his show this week.

The mysterious disappearance of Natalee Holloway over two years ago from the island of Aruba may be solved, Fox News Bill O'Reilly reported  on his show, The Factor.

On his Thursday evening broadcast, O'Reilly said "inside sources" from the island where the 18-year-old high school student who disappeared on May 30, 2005 have informed him that the real story behind the girl's disappearance was due to a heart attack from an overdose of cocaine.

"The (O'Reilly) Factor has learned - from sources we have to protect - that Natalee Holloway, the 18-year-old Alabama woman who disappeared two years ago in Aruba, died from cardiac arrest brought on by an overdose of cocaine."

While it wouldn't surprise me to learn Natalee Holloway died from a drug overdose, I've suspected that all along, the notion that it can be put forth as a cause of death with any certainty without a body is absurd. As O'Reilly apparently had Geraldo on in the segment, perhaps he should have helped Bill out by opening up a magic safe to discover the secret, or maybe even her body, sitting inside - given Geraldo's pathetic reputation.

That prospect would be about as credible as an inside source from the island of Aruba. I guess they didn't have any lakes to suggest we empty to find the still missing girl's body. What a freaking joke passing this nonsense off as news. Must be the summer slow down in ratings that got this one on the air. What's next? Greta going to fly down with a psychic?

The only potential thread to follow in the Holloway matter is who disposed of the body and how? Discussing an overdose as a possible cause of death without concrete information in that regard and, more importantly, what happened next, does nothing to inform and only uses the poor, presumably dead, girls name to create some buzz around his show. Shame on you, O'Reilly. I thought you were a better man than that.

De zaak Nathalee Holloway?

Don't ask me, the best I could do was translate the book blurb using Babelfish - which has issues, obviously.

In May 2005 the eighteen-year-old American Natalee Holloway disappear on Aruba. Joran of the dutch tell the police force firstly that he has brought Natalee at night to its hotel - but in reality he has left behind her on the range. The mother of Natalee starts an enormous retrieve medium offensive what has happened with its for the; she accuses the arubaanse police force of corruption and incompetentie. Until now nor the FBI, nor the Dutch and arubaanse police force have found a track of Natalee. In this book Joran reveal everything concerning its life and its meeting with Natalee; he tells prison over the three months in a arubaanse and finally gives he its vision on its disappearance. He is still head hoofdverdachte.

Suspect Joran Van Der Sloot has written a book on his experience in and around the Natalee Holloway case.

Natalee Holloway Search Resumed

Something of a jaw dropper for crime aficionados.

About 20 investigators arrived from the Netherlands on June 16, van der Biezen said. She said they also searched the home, but she could not say why. They left after a couple hours inside the walled property.

A statement from the prosecutors' office said: "The team has indications that justify a more thorough search."

Fox Birmingham has something up but not much more.

Sources tell FOX6 News that Aruban authorities have setup tents and brought in jackhammers to the Aruban home of Paul Van der Sloot.

I suppose it's possible someone finally opened their mouth. But the way this thing went when it was active it's hard to tell. Archives here.

I guess Greta is already warming up the plane.

Natalee Holloway Suspects Back To Court

Fox News is reporting that while Dutch authorities are traveling to Aruba in the over a year old investigation, the three primary suspects in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway are heading to court to petition to have themselves cleared, as no new evidence has emerged in over a year.
