Gray And Dandridge Secure In Jail

Something of a strange story this on, apparently the locks on the cells in the Richmond City jail were thought to be less than secure at some point. Story here

According to Riverside’s watch commander, Lt. William Sanders, Dandridge is being held on the following charges: one count of grand larceny, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit grand larceny and five counts of murder in the first degree. Sanders declined to say whether Dandridge is being held in isolation at the facility.

Murder suspects Ricky Javon Gray and his nephew Ray Joseph Dandridge have long been partners in crime. Now they’re separated by jails. The two men, both 28, are charged with conspiring to kill the Harvey family, Jan. 1, and the Tucker-Baskerville family, found murdered Jan. 6. They’re also suspects in an array of violent crimes from Pennsylvania to Virginia. So it’s little surprise authorities are taking extra precautions to assure they’re under lock and key and constant eyes. Since being extradited from Philadelphia to Richmond and appearing in Richmond General District Court at the Manchester Courthouse Jan. 10, Dandridge was held without bond at Chesterfield County’s jail until Jan. 12 when he was transferred to Riverside Regional Jail in Hopewell.

Harvey Family Murder Suspects Involved In Arlington Attack

Effin' animals.

ARLINGTON - The two Arlington County felons suspected in the slayings of two Richmond families told police they brutally attacked a 25-year-old county man with kitchen knives on New Year's Eve, according to court documents.

The victim, who survived the assault across the street from his home, was stabbed so savagely that the knives broke, the suspects told police.

Harvey Family Murder Suspects Long Trail Of Crime

Along with the suspected killings of the Harvey and Tucker families, Ricky Javon Gray, Ray Joseph Dandridge and Ashley Monique Baskerville each have a significant criminal past. Unfortunately we know that's rarely enough to keep someone in prison these days.

Between the time each was released and especially from the Holidays to just a week ago, they are suspected of leaving a terrible wake of murder and mayhem behind them.

Update On Dandridge And Gray

The thing is taking on the look of a natural born killers scenario - from Gray's wife, right on up to last week. See here and also here for the latest news reports. Also see here for a story on the murder of a woman believed to be Gray's wife.

Is Sherri Warner Murder Related To Harvey Family Slaying?

While it appears as of now that there is no known connection, it's hard to ignore the similarities in the murder of Sherri Warner to the murders of Kathryn and Bryan Harvey, their children, and also the slaying of the Tucker family in Richmond, Virginia.

Sherri Warner was found hanging from an electrical cord in her basement and had been shot in the head. The house was also set on fire. Evidently she ended a phone call with a family member to answer the door and allow a stranger to come in and use her phone.

A suspicious house fire in Reva Sunday night has been classified a homicide by the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office.

Latest on the Warner case here.

Ashley Baskerville - Suspect In Harvey Family Murders Becomes Victim

This is a compelling read - story by Jim Nolan and Mark Holmberg of The TimesDispatch. It's possible that Ashley Baskerville was an accomplice in the Harvey family murders before becoming a murder victim herself, along with her family. It would be interesting and upsetting if she initially hooked up with Dandridge through his Internet based ad.

An unlocked door is mentioned as having given access to the Harvey home. And what Dandridge and Gray netted in the robbery seems to amount to little more than a PC and some electronics. How senseless. How sad.

Arrests Made In Harvey Family Murders

Two men arrested earlier today in Pennsyvania are now considered linked to the Harvey family murder, too.

Richmond Police announced arrests in the murders of two different families in the last week. Two men, arrested in Philadelphia, are now charged in the murders of the Harvey family last weekend, as well as three members of a family Friday night.

In the latest murder, a family of three was found bound and slain in their home at 3408 East Broad Rock Boulevard around 7:30 PM Friday.   The victims have been identified as: Ashley Baskerville, 21; Mary Baskerville, 47; and Percyell Tucker, 55.

Early Saturday morning, two suspects were caught in Pennsylvania driving a car that belonged to the family. Now, police believe those two men may be responsible for their deaths. The suspects are in custody in Philadelphia for the murders: Ray Joseph Dandridge, 28 and Ricky Javon Gray, 28 of Arlington.

Richmond Police Chief Rodney Monroe says, “The house had been ransacked and numerous items appear to have been taken. At this time, we are classifying the motive as robbery.”

Police have charged the suspects with “one count each of auto theft and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the Broad Rock murders.”

The suspects Dandrige and Gray are both being linked to the brutal murders of the Harvey family; Bryan, Katherine, Stella and Ruby. All four of the victims were also found bound with tape with possible cuts and trauma to their bodies at their home at 812 W. 31st Street on New Year's Day. Police charged Dandridge and Gray with four counts each of conspiracy to commit murder stemming from that case.

Right now, police say they are now looking at robbery as the motive for that killing as well. Earlier this week, police were pretty sure it was not a random killing -- now, Police Chief Monroe is saddened to say they are looking into that as a possibility.

Suspects Arrested In Tucker Family Murder

Strange there was a rash of violent home invasions, yet authorities are not yet linking suspects arrested in Pennsyvania to the Harvey family murder.

Richmond (AP) - Richmond police have captured two suspects in Pennsylvania Saturday, hours after they believe the pair bound and murdered a south Richmond family.

Police did not identify the pair suspected in the murder of Mary and Purcell Tucker and Marys adult daughter, Ashley. They were found dead in their East Broad Rock Boulevard home overnight Friday.

Harvey Family Murder - Throats Were Slashed

Latest reports seem to suggest the murder of the Harvey family was not planned as the items used in the slayings were common household items including knives and blunt objects.

Richmond police yesterday continued their search for whoever killed four members of the Harvey family. But from the beginning, they didn't have to look far to solve the mystery of what was likely used to kill them.

Sources close to the investigation said the New Year's Day slayings appeared to have been committed with items that were found in the family's home on West 31st Street in the Woodland Heights neighborhood. According to the sources, those items included sharp objects, such as knives, as well as items used to inflict blunt-force trauma.

Police yesterday confirmed that the Harveys had been bound with tape and had their throats cut.

Harvey Family Murder Update And Tip Line

Police appear to have ruled out a murder suicide and also report the victims throats were not cut; however there does appear ot have been significant trauma.

Police confirm all four family members were found bound in their basement. So, they don’t believe this is a murder-suicide.

Police refute earlier reports that all four family members’ throats were slit. Instead, describing the wounds as trauma and cuts.

State Police offered their criminal profiler to Richmond Police to help figure out who could do something so brutal.

Richmond Police are looking for any information on this crime. If you saw anything out of the ordinary at all in the Woodland Heights neighborhood, they want you to call their tip line at : (804) 514-TIPS.

Bryan and Kathryn Harvey And Daughters Slain

Steve Huff has posted on a gruesome murder of the Richmond, Va family of Bryan and Kathyrn Harvey. The couple, along with their two young daughters were found with their throats slashed inside their Carytown home, which had also been set ablaze.

Steve Huff has more background regarding the family. Bryan played for an indie group NRG KRYSYS (pronounced energy crisis), which had played a gig as recently as New Year's Eve. A copy of their logo and a short flash file apparently made for the band can be accessed at previous link.

Harvey evidently wrote or co-authored approximately 20 songs listed here via Steve Wynn dot Net during his association with Gutterball, another band. Several images of that band are on line, along with the following photo of Bryan Harvey playing guitar.

See Steve and also the Times Dispatch for more.

Update: News video here.

Update2: Unconfirmed Internet rumor:

My friend in Richmond, who is/was a family friend of the victims, says there is a .........   tweaker (who has) ... a dangerous tweaker boyfriend. The local music community is expecting that this couple will turn out to be the perps. The house was not ransacked and there was no expectation of there being money or other valuables in their home. (They) .... had been fighting with Byran and Kathy ... in the past weeks or so.
