This is a stimulating and informative read from Michael Moriarity at Big Hollywood. Who knew? And he begins with the Bowery Boys. heh! Seriously, he succinctly traces Progressivist art, film and cultural influences from that period, read Communism, right up to today and ties it in with Soros, Obama, Marxism and where we find ourselves.

A deal has been struck between the World Marxists and an amazingly small oligarchy of American capitalists across party lines. They comprise the inner circle of Progressivism … and George Soros particularly “pulled the money strings” to get Barack Obama elected.

Their objective?

A “Collective” run by the Progressive Oligarchy.

An Animal Farm.

Hmmm … sound appealing?

At least it’s a magnet for lower-classes, right? Those who are still taught in the increasingly Marxist public school system that this Oligarchy out of the Ivy League is going to “redistribute the wealth” … right?

Well … the motivations for the lower-classes to climb up were, and still are, the privileges achieved within the free-market, capitalist system – all of which, under Marxism, will be gone, except for the chosen elite handpicked by the Oligarchy!

The promised “Change” of the Obama Nation is a bait and switch, shell game; and the established artists of today will find their own liberties curtailed … and, much like Orwell, come to abhor Communism.

However by then, it will be too late.

So I see this tweet about Miley Cyrus saying Twitter should be banned. Okay, pathetic confession - I've never actually seen the girl before this video, though obviously I know the name. So, I look her up on Wiki, as I knew she was a kid. She's 17?

In between trying to pick a food particle out of her teeth with her fingers, she tells how her latest song was actually only cut for her clothing line and, like, um, like, like, um, her movie is coming out and she's trying to reach an older audience at this point in her career. And, well, college might be cool if she ever has time to, um, like you know, check it out and stuff.

American popular culture is so upside down and freaking screwed. And I got old. I don't know which sux worse sometimes. ; )

PS - If she isn't careful, she'll be a wealthy fat dumb ass by thirty-five, assuming she makes it past the crank use in her early middle years. I don't care how grounded she may or may not be. But I do hope it works out better than that.

The Horror Of National Health Care

What were they thinking? Liberal ideology, or a ploy to garner some headlines? Both, probably. But talk about insipid stupidity, at least in terms of selling health care reform. Obviously, it simply provokes jokes comparing reform to horror and makes the topic totally un-serious.
