Exclusive review of Sarah Palin's Alaska: "Flippin' fun"

Joining PalinTV, I had the chance to watch the premiere episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska a couple of days ago. 

I give my review of the show, and why I still say it's a reality show, however it is not the kind of reality show one is accustomed to watching on television.

In fact, it is a wholesome show the family can enjoy. This is the Palin family's journey through Alaska, and we're along for the ride. Full review here.

In the meantime, Palin seems to be looking after some political cubs of her own by highlighting more candidates today.

Freedom is the big winner of the Nobel: Mario Llavas Vargas and Liu Xiaobo

One of the few times the Nobel committee got their act together and awarded prizes to laureates who actually merit the attention and admiration. The idea and advocacy of liberty gets its due in this year's Nobel.

Funny how liberals take exception to Mario Llavas Vargas winning the award, yet Liu Xiaobo, who advocates much of the same pro-democratic philosophy, is championed. Sure the circumstances are as distinct as they come between the two men, however, they both spread the same message of anti-communism and pro-freedom.

FL Newspaper: Ron Klein really messed up his chances against Allen West

This must be Ron Klein's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

After the democrat party in Florida revealed Allen West's social security number, things seem to go downhill for the democrat. West is rising in the polls, he is earning millions in donations, he has clever ad postings around the FL-22 district of Klein as Nancy Pelosi's puppet, and is a Youtube sensation among conservatives across the country.

The Palm Beach Post's editorial board left the impression that Allen West has practically won this race for House seat in Florida's 22nd district thanks to the incompetence of the Klein campaign and the Florida democrat party. They even wrote that Klein's "recklessness" does not grant him the right to accuse West of such a thing. The wheels are coming off.

"Nobody's Perfect": Tony Curtis, RIP

The grim reaper has finally caught up with the Hollywood superstar who once quipped "I wouldn't be caught dead marrying a woman old enough to be my wife":

Tony Curtis, one of the last great stars of Hollywood's golden age, died yesterday aged 85. The death was confirmed by a representative of his actor daughter Jamie Lee Curtis, although further details have yet to emerge. Curtis's health had been failing for a number of years and he went to hospital in July after suffering an asthma attack.

Appearing on stage at the Guardian BFI Southbank interview in 2008, Curtis was asked by an audience member what he would like to have written on his gravestone. "Nobody's perfect," he quipped, quoting the final line of his best-loved comedy, "Some Like it Hot."

Bristol Palin: Opening the door for conservatives in pop culture?

Sometimes it is nice to take a break from politics every once and a while, and entertain and amuse ourselves. Escapism sometimes is nurturing to our sanity. While politicos frustrate us, we can learn from young mother Bristol Palin. She catapulted from obscurity to fame, suffered through public tribulations, yet cheerfully goes on with life.

This season, she chose to participate in "Dancing with the Stars" to the chagrin of some of the republican establishment, but to the cheers of fellow mama grizzlies, and papa bears around the blogosphere.

Albeit, it's a dancing show, but Bristol's work and message will peak the interest of those following her on the TV show. What is the significance of Bristol on "Dancing with the Stars?" Bristol's appearance on the show may open opportunities for her... and for conservatives. How so?

Breaking: Barry Fife Knocks Off Sheriff Andy

Oh dear. I told you Obama was bad for traditional America. But did he have to do in Sheriff Andy? Evidently Griffith filmed spots for ObamaCare and now his approval rating is down 25 points. Helen is not going to be a happy camper! Tell Opie to get Aunt Bea. Maybe she can bake something and make this better. Just, please, nothing with Arugula.

The Democratic pollster found that Griffith's approval rating has fallen 25 points since 2008. Griffith has been a closer for Democrats, an unimpeachable saintly figure who fills his rare political spots with folksy charm and obvious references to his role as a small-town North Carolina sheriff.

In July he cut an ad for the U.S. government promising "good things" to come from the Democratic-backed health care law. The ad prompted five Republican U.S. senators to accuse the Obama administration of using taxpayer money to bolster his policies.

And as the poll suggests, the ad may have tainted the Griffith brand.

"Clearly it's pushback from the president's health care plan," said Brad Crone, a Democratic consultant who is working with legislative candidates. "It's a good time to call up Barney Fife."

Rush Needn't Fear Mickey Kaus

Via Ann Althouse, Kaus had a try-out as a radio talker dude. Rush would never snark on his audience, even this mildly. And he talks both as though he's addressing a crowd of millions, because he is - and at the same time, achieves intimacy, somehow. I guess it's a gift.

Kaus says, "Basically, you're talking to people who are alone in their apartments. And I knew I dropped the ball on that. I forgot that. I was proclaiming like Rush Limbaugh, you know, denouncing people, as if I was talking to talking to a crowd of 10,000 people. And I knew I screwed that up."

Michael Moore: WikiLeaker "Courageous Patriot," Will Help Fund His Defense

Hooray for Hollywood. This is Hollywood and the Democrat Party, featuring both the Carters and Al Franken issuing their own personal fat-one on America.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP)-- Filmmaker Michael Moore is praising an Army private suspected of releasing classified war records to WikiLeaks and said he would contribute to his defense.

Moore tells The Associated Press in an interview that he considers Pfc. Bradley Manning a courageous patriot for exposing what Moore called "war crimes."

The Oscar-winning filmmaker said Thursday he will contribute to a legal defense fund for the 22-year-old former intelligence analyst, who faces up to 52 years in prison.

Maybe Larry King Stayed Just A Bit Too Long? I See Non-N-people

KING: But, Jewish comics can kid Jews, Hispanic comics, Josh Lopez, kids Hispanics all the time. Gay comics kid the gay situation. It's OK, isn't it? But not OK when the non-N-person uses it.
