Gameboy addict and slovenly, perpetual wanker, Murkowski campaign manager, John Bitney is at it, again. You may remember him as the incompetent zipper challenged Legislative Director from early in Palin's term as Alaska's Governor.
When the fallout began after that meeting, I looked at the legislative director. He looked at the ground and shrugged as if to say, “Wasn’t me.”
With some help from the New York Times, Bitney is at it, again. h/t ADN.
It took Sarah Palin just four years to help dismantle the political empire the Murkowski family took three decades to build.
"I wanted to avoid a race between Sarah and Lisa," (Bitney) said, referring to the Republican primary race that ended a week after the voting as the count dragged on. "It was going to raise issues that I didn't want to have to deal with. I had hoped this would not be a story."
He certainly seems to hope any issues between Palin and Murkowski will be a story, now - though they shouldn't be. But it's the only way he can slither out from under a humiliating defeat, rightly blamed largely on his own incompetence. No big surprise, long-time Palin foe, libertarian Halcro is there to help.
“I think there were very few private moments,” said Andrew Halcro, a longtime friend of Ms. Murkowski who ran as an independent against Ms. Palin in 2006. “Most of the time, Lisa walked away with just an absolute surprise at how disengaged she was with Alaska and public policy concerning Alaska.”
Let's hope this new dissing of Palin isn't part of any ongoing plan for Murkowski to still run as a Libertarian. I've heard talk it could still come to pass, but haven't heard anything solid. The reality is what the NYT's points out down below. Murkowski was out of touch with Alaska, then she took a GOP establishment hack as a campaign manager - and he blew it by falling asleep with a month to go. Maybe he was preoccupied trying to get a food spot out of his tie. He does have that problem, yanno!
“She’s definitely seen as way too left of the right, if you will,” Stephen Haycox, a historian here, said of Ms. Murkowski.
One would think that a loser like Bitney would eventually become accustomed to losing. Maybe it's all those video games. Having spent so much time with them, is the clown now incapable of learning anything? Whatever the case, he seems left with nothing but sad excuses to push to the liberal media. Being a sore loser is bad enough, John. But being a sore loser with a sore bottom, now, that must really suck, dude!

Never any personal growth in not learning from defeat and making some changes, rather than just making excuses and looking for scapegoats... once a schlubb, always a schlubb

Wow, that's really good, did you stay up all night writing that?
Nah, I knocked off round two, two thirty.

Since I happen to know all of the parties involved in this post--don't take Palin's description of Bitney in her book as some kind of gospel. She has her own recollections, but that fact is she hired him as Leg. Director and kept him around for a year. The Murkowski campaign did make strategic mistakes in taking on Joe Miller, but how many were Bitney's and how many the candidate needs to take responsibility for is unclear.
Dan, I like your blog but this post isn't really worthy of you. Murkowski will not, I repeat NOT run on the Libertarian line. If you want someone to make fun of, the Dem candidate for Senate McAdams is a big fat target, so let's move on in that direction.
