An interesting coincidence for anyone who thinks it doesn't matter if the GOP wins with a liberal like Castle, versus trying to at least fight for a win with a more conservative candidate. This firearms hearing is set for September 14. That's the same day Mike Castle and his F rating from the NRA faces voters in the Delaware Primary.
NOTICE OF COMMITTEE HEARING The Senate Committee on the Judiciary has scheduled a hearing entitled "Firearms in Commerce: Assessing the Need for Reform in the Federal Regulatory Process" for Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
Are you really willing to support a gun grabbing liberal so McConnell may eventually have more clout to reach across the aisle? Personally, I'd rather have the battle lines more clearly drawn on issues like this, than eventually have a Republican standing up at the press conference going on about the danger of guns in America and the need for increased regulation.

Despite the cryptic name, this one's actually safe. It concerns a house-cleaning measure supported by the NRA.

I would like to believe that it matters having a true conservative, too. Let's hope Delaware can see that. There are serious doubts in my mind that any small group of people that would continually elect Joe Biden have the wattage to detect a smart move. Could it actually be that the original group drawing the lines for that state knew there was something in the water and wanted to contain it?

IF Castle getting the nomination results in Repubs taking the Senate, then the Repubs would control the Senate agenda and you wouldn't have gun grabbing hearings :)

Think of John McCain, and think again.
And yeah, this is SUPPOSED to be about the ATF reform bill; Leahy is in charge and it will involve the Holder Justice Department, both of which do not make for a warm & fuzzy feeling. Especially since, if it's only about the reform bill, why didn't ANYONE want to say anything to Codrea? Might just be standard political BS, but you do have to wonder.
