You might recall a You Tube video of Illinois Democrat Phil Hare saying he doesn't worry about the Constitution when doing his job in DC. It seems he meant it.
That video led to the start up of two Constitution-related PACs and billboard campaigns, all of which are under attack by Hare's Illinois Democrat political machine.
Vets For The Constitution has been hit with an FEC complaint. Billboards are cheap and effective, empowering citizens to become involved in politics. Interestingly enough, the FEC complaint was filed by a Democrat County Chairman, who also gave $1,000 to Phil Hare's campaign. Coincidences happen, I guess .... Here's the FEC complaint in pdf: Download DOC083010. Here's video of the Vet's group explaining the billboard campaign.
Hare and the Democrats went after the other PAC, FOCPAC, created by local farmers, another way. Based upon correspondence I've been forwarded, the billboards are not covered by the law the Democrat establishment is trying to use to force them to be taken down.
1. In a small amount of time and energy these farmers have turned the 17th CD into a billboard campaign that has never been seen before .
2. In Canton , Il the local City engineering department is trying to get FOCPAC to remove their billboard claiming local ordnances disallow it.
3. FOC-PAC’s billboard company Lamar Advertising owns this billboard location and is willing to fight it .
4. The email exchanges ( names retracted except public officials )shows what lengths in Illinois the Democrats will go to suppress free speech .
5. This battle falls at the same time Phil Hare $1000 supporter and Sangamon County Democrat chairman files FEC complaint against vets4theconstitution .
6. It seems Phil Hare and the Illinois Democrats hate the constitution
An emailed press release from Bobby Schilling's campaign below. An important point here, this district is rated in the 50s, I believe, as far as a potential takeover. But recent polls have it competitive. The key to winning the type of majority we want is going to hinge on winning races just like this. With Hare looking like the gift that keeps on giving, it would be foolish for Republicans and conservatives to not take advantage of the man who doesn't care about the Constitution's repeated gifts. He looks to be a total screw up and not the kind of guy we need in Congress, and besides, ... he's a liberal Democrat.
Schilling Decries Rep. Hare's Baseless Attacks Against Veterans Group Says Hare should be ashamed of himself
EAST MOLINE, IL--Bobby Schilling, candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, spoke out against Rep. Hare's recent attack on a local veterans group. Schilling said that the Hare campaign is playing shameful political games by trying to silence a local veterans group, simply because they are unsupportive of Hare's re-election. Schilling said that voters should expect more baseless attacks from the Hare campaign because if they were to actually focus on the issues, that they would lose.
"It's unfortunate that these types of political games have taken over debate of the real issues," said Schilling. "With the unemployment rate having doubled, the national debt having grown by over $5 trillion and more taxes being pushed on to the middle class since Rep. Hare was first elected, it's no wonder that the Hare campaign would have one of their cronies pull this type of stunt. Rep. Hare can't focus on the issues that are affecting us, because if he does, then he loses. Simple as that. This is a baseless claim and a purely political stunt."
Schilling also decried Hare's attacks on veterans.
"On a day when President Obama is honoring our troops on a job well done in Iraq, Phil Hare has instead decided to attack our veterans and silence their freedom of speech. These are men that have fought and bled for our first amendment rights. Hare should be ashamed of himself. This is one of the reasons why people truly believe that Hare really doesn't worry about the Constitution."
This is not the first time that Rep. Hare has attacked or misrepresented veterans in his district. In a news story on WQAD, Rep. Hare attack the honor and credibility of Medal of Honor Recipient, John Baker by claiming that his endorsement of Bobby Schilling was just a political "stunt." Click here to see the video
Rep. Hare also falsely accused Allie Lymenstull, a World War II U.S. Navy Combat Veteran of Quincy, of handing out "racist" literature. Rep. Hare sent out a release claiming that Mr. Lymenstull handed him a piece of paper which stated, "The White House is no longer white," when if fact the paper said, "America's White House? Not anymore." Tim Schlittner, a spokesperson for Rep. Hare later admitted to the State Journal Register that they were incorrect in framing Mr. Lymenstull as a racist. Schilling also said, "For Rep. Hare to not worry about the Constitution is one thing, but to not worry about the rights of the men and women who fought to defend it is totally wrong."

"For Rep. Hare to not worry about the Constitution is one thing, but to not worry about the rights of the men and women who fought to defend it is totally wrong."
Shows EXACTLY how much they respect and support the troops and our Constitution...

Hare are 7 more reasons why Phil can be beat in November:
1. Hare also said questions about the Constitution are "silly stuff."
2. This guy has the about least amount of cash on hand of any incumbent in the Illinois congressional delegation (and it's a difficult market to buy TV in).
3. Hare votes with Pelosi 98.8% of the time. He voted for all the spending bills, the cap & trade, the health care bill, etc. He can't credibly distance himself from Pelosi and the liberal Democrat agenda.
4. Hare hasn't been doing any public events in the district.
5. As much as they would love to, Hare's liberal friends in Congress won't be able to "bail him out" because they have difficult races of their own this year.
6. An independent poll showed that less than 40% of the district would vote to re-elect him in November. That poll was taken in 2009.
7. Hare has never had a competitive race for Congress and he is clearly a poor campaigner.

This one is critical, archetypal. Beat this demonic personality Hare and the hordes surrounding him will shudder. McCain and Co., Tea Partiers and lawyers should go there, focus there, shine lights on this guy and cronies and haul him and them into courts, blogs and media. This one is vital because it is the heart of the beast in clear view. A rare opportunity. Point the vector of attack there and everywhere else forces will align in support of candidates promising to close agencies and restrict bureaucrats. And for the RNC, focus here, for Hare's opponent, will convince conservatives that the RNC hears, believes and can represent the spirit of the times. This one is archetypal, a clear, splendid opportunity for universal effect through specific focus.

Veterans or not, they still must follow Federal Election Commission reporting requirements.
The evidence is that they submitted fraudlent documentation.
The organization claims to have raised enough money to put up two billboards and have $1,759.13 left over, but reported only $29
in contributions. All their expenditures have gone toward supporting one particular candidate, Robert Schilling.
The billboards failed to state who paid for the ad, and whether or not it was authorized by the candidate.
