Left Crushed: Taxi Cab Perp Worked For Pro-Mosque Group

The Left has been all over this story. Politico has a bit more than the first thin news release that stirred them up.

The apparent anti-Muslim assault on a New York city cabbie by a man shouting “Assalamu Alaikum. Consider this a checkpoint" produced an immediate round of recriminations over its connection to opposition to a New York Islamic Center and an apparent rising tide of Islamophobia.

But as often at the intersection of politics and violent crime, the story doesn't appear to fit any easy stereotype: The alleged assailant, Michael Enright, is — according to his Facebook profile and the website of the left-leaning media organization Intersections International — a student at the School of Visual Arts and a volunteer for Intersections, which recently produced a statement of support for the Park51 project and is funded by the mainstream, liberal Collegiate Church of New York.

Damn, I so hate it when this happens.

NEW YORK (AP) -- A group that promotes interfaith dialogue and has supported a controversial proposed mosque near ground zero said one of its volunteers is likely the man who's been accused of stabbing a New York taxi driver after asking whether he was Muslim.

The Rev. Robert Chase of Intersections International said he believed that Michael Enright, who is in police custody, has volunteered for the group, based on the police saying Enright is from Brewster, N.Y., and other details. A Facebook profile for a man named Michael Enright lists the same hometown and employment at Intersections International.

Oh, wait, I never said anything about this story because the reality is someone who stabs someone is probably a stupid crazy person who doesn't really need motivation to do stupid crazy things.

This case seems a pretty good example of that theory.

Furthermore we still don't actually know all the facts of the case, the media lept to the most sensational angle they could find and ran with it and morons followed, this could be more of the same.

We'll have to wait until it reaches court to find out all the facts but since y'all hate facts and have short attention spans I doubt you will be interested by then.
