From no less an authority than Charlie Cook. In less than two years, Democrats have gone from Obama Heaven, to staring into the abyss. Pardon me, if I give the dirt-bags a push right over the edge.
The clown in chief and his progressive hacks in Congress are a disaster. The American people are waking up and, as things stand, they are going to put your statists asses to sleep like the sick animals you are in November. And deservedly so. Obama said he would be the difference in the mid-terms. At least the incompetent clown was right about one thing. He will be the difference, now that he can no longer hide behind the marketers and handlers who sold his sorry ass to America as the second coming. He was in a sense, the second coming of George McGovern. And now the Democrats can choke on it. I'm cool wid dat!
Among all voters, there has been a significant swing since 2008 when Democrats took their new majority won in 2006 to an even higher level. But when you home in on those people in this survey who are most likely to vote, the numbers are devastating. The NBC/WSJ survey, when combined with a previously released NPR study of likely voters in 70 competitive House districts by Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg and Republican Glen Bolger, point to an outcome for Democrats that is as serious as a heart attack. Make no mistake about it: There is a wave out there, and for Democrats, the House is, at best, teetering on the edge.
To be sure, things could change in the four months between now and November 2. The GOP's failure to get Republicans to vote in the May 18 special election in Pennsylvania's 12th District underscores that the party can't just sit back and await spontaneous combustion in terms of turnout. Still, the potential is here for a result that is proportional to some of the bigger postwar midterm wave elections. These kinds of waves are often ragged; almost always some candidates who looked dead somehow survive and others who were deemed safe get sucked down in the undertow. That's the nature of these beasts. But the recent numbers confirm that trends first spotted late last summer have fully developed into at least a Category 3 or 4 hurricane.

Sadly, aside from a few of the Tea Party-sponsored candidates, we'll be replacing Democratic statist asses with Republican statist asses.

Well as the idea of doing a massive dump of these clowns in November, (in both parties) all I can say is Hear Hear!

"Sadly, aside from a few of the Tea Party-sponsored candidates, we'll be replacing Democratic statist asses with Republican statist asses."
The few Bush era GOP stalwarts who are left will get the message in November. We will remove them from office just as easily as the Dems.
Listen up, America. Got news for you. The lean years are coming. We're not paying for you anymore. We're not paying for illegal aliens to go to our schools and tax dollars. We're not paying for people who are too proud to go back to work. We're not paying for health care for crack junkies.
You're on your own. The state will no longer hold your hand because we refuse to empower the state to do so.
So you'd better figure out what it's going to take to work that second job or sell that house you can't afford or hock your damn video game consoles and your games to make ends meet.
The adults are now forcing austerity upon you. The party is now over. Get off your asses and get busy surviving.

It is going to be a BLOOD BATH for the Dims come November. They can spin their news any way they want, but the people who are going to vote are very informed and going to vote their butts out. Period. I feel so sorry...(NOT) for anyone who is an incumbent. BUT, especially for the Dim incumbents who voted for deathcare. THEY ARE TOAST. There is nothing they can say or do that will save them. They wouldn't talk to the people they represent during last summer and we (the people) took it to heart. They will not be re-elected.
Whether we are exchanging Dem statists with Repub statists is a point that can be argued, however, I do believe that the Dims want to push this country over to the dark side.
More spending is not the answer to financial prosperity. Anyone who argues this is a total DUNCE.

"The GOP's failure to get Republicans to vote in the May 18 special election in Pennsylvania's 12th District underscores that the party can't just sit back and await spontaneous combustion in terms of turnout."
But sitting back is exactly what these Assistant Democrats are doing. And with McCain seemingly heading for re-election (what is wrong with you Arizona?), the statist GOP we booted in 2006 and 2008, the only party stupid enough to enable the government we currently have, will return to power intact.
We are in worse trouble than most of us believe. Replacing Democrats with THIS Republican party is not much of an improvement.

In most any other off-year election, a 40 seat loss by the House-majority party would be considered a political wipeout. This year, things are looking so bad for the Donks that they'll undoubtedly crow "we dodged a bullet" if they lose "only" 40 seats.
Here's one scenario that undoubtedly keeps Donks up at nights: namely, the Democrats still eke out a 1-2 seat majority in the House and Senate. This would be the real nightmare scenario for Democrats: as they'd still be nominally in charge but almost completely de-fanged. Obama's agenda (such as it is) for the remainder of his (probably single) term would be like the Titanic after hitting the iceberg: at a dead standstill and rapidly taking on water. Harry Reid will be g.on.e. and a weakened Nancy Pelosi would be in for a major fight to keep her job. Any surviving Blue Dogs would most certainly assure themselves a seat in the lifeboats by making tactical deals with an emboldened GOP.
What's not to like?

Not if I can do it first.

"May 18 special election in Pennsylvania's 12th"
It's pretty tough when both the Republican and Democrat both sound like Republicans to get much of an "edge." Alas, this is a special case of non-incumbents running without much if any record.

Mark J...what a fascinating scenario....hmmmmm.....and it may just come true....
OH YEAH!!! What's not to like? ***snort***

The most important thing to do that we must not forget is to keep going after the Dems once they are out of power. If some ex rep gets a cushy job at some think tank we need to go after that think tank with every weapon at our disposal until they fire that ex rep. We need to hound them and run them to the ground until they are broken. We need to make sure that we do it publically so that the people we do send to office get the message that if they act the way these jokers have we will not only force them out of office we will crush them under our foot like worms!
Rep Stark is a prime example of the type of scumbag that we need to go after. Even if he wins re-election the Tea Party and the Minutemen need to economically target his relatives and major supporters by any legal means. Boycotts, nuisence law suits, harrass them by any legal methods.

Southdakotaboy,
I'm not saying the Dems wouldn't do that. I'm advocating for something better...the Sixty Percent Victory...the Happy Warrior Conservative. Go out there with a full bore, across the board, enthused and unafraid True Conservatism aka Social Conservatism aka The Base aka Moral Values, Fiscal Responsibility, and Love of Liberty and Justice aka the twin lights of Liberty and Virtue....
And we can win big time.
But the RINOs don't want to go there. And some of them say the best thing to do is to...
1. Do better.
2. Have more tech.
3. Be more bloodthirsty.
I'm not saying you're a RINO. I don't know you that well. I am saying Happy Warrior beats Throat-slittng Mafiosi as a tactic and as an overall strategy. Happy Warrior leads us to the country we want to live in, Mafiosi leads us to a place where we win, but its a nasty place in many ways.
That said, sometimes we are going to have to use nasty tactics in certain cases, but overall, we need to be Happy Warriors.

The problem is that the republicans are just sitting around, as usual, waiting for the election to fall into their laps, simply because they're not democrats. This isn't going to cut it. I'm sick of holding my nose to vote for a republican candidate simply because if I don't, the dems will win again, and God help this country if they do. The republican party needs to get rid of Steele and the other rinos and get back to their conservative base.

... and then slit the traitorous bastards' throats after we get done winning as Happy Warriors.
