Teagan Goddard rounds up some of the inside the beltway set, aka the irrelevant to the real world young elite - Klein, Ambinder, Chait and Cillizza and Green. The reviews are not very good.
The MSNBC video via Real Clear Politics is worse - no tingle for Chris, no solutions for Keif.
More video, as Frank Luntz's focus group says thumbs down.
Here's the Memeorandum run down.
Some local reaction via the WSJ. I participated in a podcast with Rick Moran and Larrey Anderson of American Thinker instead, because, frankly, we weren't even interested. I assumed it would be more vague Obama demagogy. And I was correct. If he regulates us out of the fossil fuel business, American energy costs will soar. If he tries for carbon legislation, which will amount to a major new tax, as the Bush tax cuts get ready to expire - the economy will continue to tank, likely even worse than it's been doing.
He's got nothing or, nothing good to offer. So, he's left to try and play the politics right, as always, and tread his way across a sea of oil drowning his administration. And he's already played the Czar card so matter of factly on other matters, I doubt Americans even see it as a big deal. In short, Obama is not Barackin' the world. He's out of tricks. And I don't expect that to change any time, soon.
Meanwhile, at Pensacola Beach in Florida, a couple dozen people watched Obama's televised speech at Sandshaker Lounge, a local watering hole.
Several said Mr. Obama didn't go far enough Tuesday night.
"He's still letting BP run the show," said Gregg Hall, a 48-year-old sales manager at a local car dealership. "From the very beginning, the government should have taken control."
Tar balls have been washing up on this town's beaches in Florida's Panhandle for more than a week, and Mr. Obama paid a visit to the town earlier Tuesday during a two-day Gulf tour of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
"I would like as much money going into this as in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Tracy Dwiggins, 52, a local civil servant, adding that the president should act "like it's a war."
Ricky Ray, 58, said the president should have declared a national disaster to get more help to the Gulf more quickly.
"I don't understand what it's going to take, how much oil has to be spilled," said Mr. Ray, a sales manager for an apparel company.

The POS POTUS strikes again!!!!
Only this asshat would use this emergency to try and grab MORE control over the economy.
He is so focused on his "one world order", Soros funded agenda that he simply demonizes everything and attempts to screw the American people every chance he gets.
His idea of change is the kind you hope you'll find in your pocket to pay for his forced "skin in the game"
Lets see his solution is to raise taxes so we can have more of those nifty "green jobs" (union of course)..... yea that's real leadership for you!!!
mmm!!! mmm!!! mmm!!!

Olberman has the nerve to say that Obama didn't say anything specific? When has Obama ever said anything specific?
Olberman, Mathews, both of you and the rest of the MSM have oil on your hands for propping up this empty suit.

If Obama's lost Olbermouth, Tweety, and MSNBC, he's in serious trouble. Even liberals like Kevin Drum have thrown him under the bus this morning.
I don't see how he survives this politically now. He's lost his base on the oil disaster, he lost the center on Obamacare, and he lost the right in his first month in office on the stimulus nonsense.
He'll continue to lose everyone on the economy.
At what point does fiery rhetorical talk of impeachment become calm and realistic talk of resignation? I think we reached that point last night. I've said before that Obama won't run in 2012. I'm now convinced after that speech that he may not make it to end of his term.

He's not going to be impeached, that is insane.
BP would have been his chance to show his so called amazing managerial and leadership competenance. HA. HA again. A month later and the best he can come up with is a rant against big oil and nothing specific, no plans, no nothing. Exactly what I would expect...all talk. The only thing Obama knows how to do is talk and/or attempt to pass vague legislation that is based on his vague talking points which will be impossible to implement without disastrous results.
He is worse than Jimmy Carter and that is saying a lot. though I still think history will be very kind to him as The First Black President.
Before this debacle is over Bush's Katrina response is going to look fantastic.

The fly in the ointment of all this Obama bashing joy.
Gallup has Obama up 5 points in one week.
I guess reality sucks guys.

And Rasmussen has him down to 42%. Who ya gonna believe? By any measurement, the guy is done.
