Update:Via Jim Hoft. Snipers on the rooftops? I've no idea how often that's used by the Secret Service, but I imagine it is on occasion. pics at link above, also see links below.
Just in via Dana Loesch's blog.
As I reported on air this afternoon via Michelle Moore plus Twitter updates, Illinois sent in the riot squad to stop the couple hundred peaceful protesters from … doing what it isn’t exactly clear. Protesters sang “God Bless America” and apparently that was enough to invoke the riot squad. Illinois may be running a deficit but sure has money to burn for silly and unnecessary things.
Adam Sharp has video.
More at links above and some background from email.
The Riot squad came from Metro East St Louis, St Clair County Sheriff's Dept , 150 miles away. The local police are friends and neighbors of the Quincy Tea party and asked people to move back . Everyone was doing just that when inside the rally Team Obama and the Secret Service sent in the riot squad. Local Police did not want to call in Riot Team, said to be confirmed by many on local Quincy police duty, they supposedly argued against it

They are trying to incite an incident just like the congressmen unsuccessfully attempted to do by going through the crowd on the day of the false allegations of the N-bombs.
This is the behavior of people whose ideas cannot survive on their merits. To continue to succeed, they must trash their opponents and taunt the peaceful protesters. I pray that people keep cooler heads and avoid physical confrontations at all costs.

The riot team was absolutely ridiculous. But the roof teams aren't unusual for an areas where the president will be passing through. In fact, you'll find them on buildings around the White House when Marine One lands. They're on the White House roof constantly.

Can we call them Brownshirts yet?
It is almost like Obama is reenacting 1930's Germany.

I agree, let's keep cooler heads...there will be more of this in the future. It is best to avoid any hint of confrontation. Nevertheless, be wary. This is a tactic that is often used to provoke a response that can then justify further repression. We have all see this in other countries. With this administration, it should come as no surprise to see it here.

Traditional, patriotic songs are to Lefty vampires as religious symbols are to, well, vampires.

Having snipers in overwatch positions scanning likely approaches is pretty much standard operating procedure for any important official. Having them make their presence known is not. Having them incompetently concealed is not either. That part is pure intimidation.

I keep telling people that we already live in a police state.

Custer's last stand. Unless he can show a nick, and a little spot of blood. To arouse his (free) base (smokers).
There will be no one left in America to play lion tamer with (libwuhls roar, King Hussein tosses em' his meat).
Until such time as he is removed from office, by rule of law. We really do want that bug alive.
Strange times indeed.

Geez, we must have had several thousand in Chicago without the slightest incident, or even much police presence.
