I've seen a lot of speculation on the Pelosi Stupak rumblings going on. We'll find out at his presser if its resolved. But it does indicate some type of problem for Pelosi until it is.
Their MO has been building a sense of inevitability all along. People coming in and out of your office at late hours does not jibe with that. Whatever it is, it's an issue she didn't want.
Can they solve it? Given the progressive tradition for trading principles for power, I'd say there's a chance. Ironic that if they do, Obama will be the only one left standing with much hope of getting any benefit from it, when he's so mishandled the thing from the get go.
Caught up in ideology and trying to save the incompetent, it's stupid is as stupid does with most of them right now.

excerpted from fire dog lake:
["Pro-choice members of the House, however, are demanding that the vote on the Concurrent Resolution happen before the House confirms the Senate bill. If in fact it passes, they plan to vote against confirming the Senate bill. They want Rep. Diana Degette to release the names of the 41 cosigners to her letter who pledged to vote against any bill that restricts a woman’s right to choose, and they are angry that the White House has been whipping to push through the Stupak deal.
“It is outrageous that a Democratic Speaker, a Democratic Majority Leader and a Democratic President should support rolling back women’s reproductive rights,” says one member of the group.]
degette is an an assclown. she would 'toss dick cheney's salad' to get this thing passed. no one can honestly believe her. she had some quote about how she and her gaggle would vote aginst the bill, if the stupak language was included, but pointed out that the failure of the bill would be on stupak and the republicans. It would make sense for the dems to blame the gop, but being the no vote, means she would be voting with the gop.
as for "support rolling back women’s reproductive rights"...
another member of the gaggle without a clue. at best, it just reiterates existing laws that have been passed, numerous other times.
*************************
I was hopeful about the possiblity of a win, but as the list of bribes is popping out, it is pretty clear that the wh will do anything to pass it. I think where they lost their cause when they tried to commit to a deficit neutral mission. Not sure how one can seperate a new entitlement, and suggest it is funded, while existing entitlements are NOT funded, but the msm has at best seemed uncurious, and at worst grossly incompetent.
stupak wins out, and the senate agrees to the modification,as even gop members would be compelled to support the ammendment to the senate bill.
the house, did however, add 170 billion to the package, and crafted their own taxes to accomodate. I'm thinking the senate will not agree to it, as they are far more leery about raising taxes. Congress critters can hide in their district, senators are exposed to the entire state.
so while i accept it makes it thru the house, i'm not sure it can make it back thru the senate. the price/tax tag went up, and the governors of the states who get burned are not going to remain quiet, even if they are dems(ex. bredesen).
the only thing that could change the trajectory is if there is spate of polls that provide local evidence of the damage being done, or if national polls push obama below 45%.
the grim news for obama is that his current approval now is the ceiling with which he will have to govern for the 2 and half years. It was brutal on bush, and it will be equally brutal on bambi when he loses the house.
(not a fan of firedoglake, as they embarassed themselves with fitzmas, but the work/coverage they have done on this matter is really good. easily better than anything one could find in the msm)

Just a comment from the heartland - BTW - I've read this blog for a long time - Civil insurrections and wars start when there isn't any reason to talk anymore. I quit twittering because I was enraged at this travesty. I know believe that we will see blood in the streets. Does anyone doubt that Obama is a Marxist any longer? Beck asks people not to act violently, and He carries on a lot about American history, but he misses the real point....as our Constitution provides, violence is our only protection when we face Marxism destroying our Country. Beck means well, but the only reason we ain't Brits is that we killed enough of them over a period of 50-60 yrs that we finally won. History teaches this one hard, cold fact....National survival means killing our enemies. I figure that we are gonna have death squads here in our country, and assassinations on both sides. Dan, the longer the Marxists in our government run roughshod over the Constitution, the more certain armed rebellion is. I know that this opinion ain't popular, and I know You may take some heat if You allow this post, but, I'm tellin' ya, You should hear some of the things I've been hearing lately. We no longer give this travesty of a government our permission to run our affairs. This is gonna be much worse than tbs British occupation, I fear.

If this is true, then come Sunday, the Dems may find out their vote has self-destructed. The pro-abortion Dems will not swallow Stupak. Pelosi will lose at least as many votes as she gains from this, and now the number of no votes demands she has Stupak's group fully on board.
This is what I meant by SHE NEVER HAD THE VOTES. I'm glad to see I was right.

As Stokely Carmichael, I think, said "violence is as American as apple pie," the United States has a history of violent political action. Most recently, the farm depression of the 1970's and 1980's helped contribute to survivalist organizations and even the Branch Davidians and Timothy McVie. A group of businessmen attempted a Coup against FDR during the nineteen thirties, and farmers lynched judges. Violence usually doesn't end well.
Our ancestors successfully freed themselves from Britain because our revolution was part of a larger war. Without the help of European nations like France we would have lost and eventually evolved through commonwealth status like Canada.

Going Galt and an incipient tax rebellion. I hear things like this a lot. From law abiding citizens who realize that the rules are changing. When a 72 yr old woman tells me she's gonna cheat on her taxes, and I know for a fact that woman has never done so before, things have changed. When a group of folks were sayin' that they were gonna "trim" their taxes by 30-35%, I knew that things have changed. Honest people have no use for tax cheats running the treasury. The list is too long to mention all that I've heard lately, but I expect some folks to suffer direct action due to their support of Marxism. In this day and age, I reckon video will be shot with "confessions".
