Said to be the word around town via the Corner:
Prospects for a Stupak deal may be collapsing. More, no doubt, to come.
Then there's this from Lynn Sweet.
Two Chicago Democrats, Rep. Dan Lipinski and Rep. Mike Quigley, are a microcosm of the dilemma for the Obama White House and Democratic House leaders as they head to a Sunday showdown vote. The anti-abortion Lipinski won't vote for the measure as it stands.
He told me stricter bans are needed to ensure no federal money is channeled to clinics providing abortions or to insurance plans offering abortions. While some Catholic groups have signed on to the Obama plan, the nation's bishops have not.

indifferent on the passage...the glass will be half full either way, but...
shouldn't the stupak changes be addressed by the senate, first?
couldn't they just add an ammendment to the bill they submitted to the house? if the dems in the senate were actually willing to make the changes, thyey'd be helping out on this. have to laugh at the senate's predicament...
they've been ignoring the growing opposition to all things dem, but figured they would go to war with the army they have. now, at the last minute, pro-abortion groups are going to threaten desertion?
why now?
can't help but believe that the pelosi rally among house female dems was another line in the sand, that she was drawing, but now must back away from. she either lied to them, or she got them believing that the bill would pass the house without the stupak group. this sudden rxn from the abortionistas was precipitated by 'something' recent.

We know Democrats are far more loyal to the brand than Republicans. We'll see if his conscience overrules his loyalty.

Stupak has canceled his press conference. His deal must have fallen apart.
This MUST mean he and his bloc are now going to vote no and KILL THE BILL.
If not...we WILL HAVE OUR SAY.
Dems, you have but hours left as a viable political party. Do they understand this? Do they really know what's going on? Do they know what will happen specifically to them if this passes?

"some Catholic groups have signed on"
These aren't "Catholic groups" .. they are groups with some fallen Catholics in them

Just more manure/disinfo being spread upon the (astro) turf (by the fourth estate/fifth column):
"While some Catholic groups have signed on to the Obama plan"
Liars, cheats, thieves, socialists, commies, agents of darkness/misfortune. TRAITORS. And the Dems seem to be proud. PROUD. Of this high speed Chinese fire drill/ultra slomo train wreck.
No one gave in. Not the GOP house leadership, nor America. Who stood shoulder to shoulder against the hun. Obamacare will never see the light of day. Bank (take it to the).
Good Job All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have saved the country.
G*d Bless You.
