Stupak Chooses Obama Over The Unborn

Stupak gets nothing out of this except his name in the paper. Nothing he gets will change a thing. It's a total sell-out of what he has claimed to believe in. Hope he enjoyed the camera face time while selling out so completely with nothing substantive in return.

The White House and anti-abortion Democrats have reached an agreement to defusethe controversy over abortion in the health reform bill – planning a series of steps that will secure the support of Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and other Democrats to give party leaders the votes they need to pass reform, sources tell POLITICO.

Under the agreement, President Barack Obama would sign an executive order ensuring that no federal funding will go to pay for abortion under the health reform plans. In addition, Stupak will get to state his concerns about abortion funding in the bill during a colloquy on the House floor during the debate.

And then, Stupak and several other Democratic hold-outs over abortion will sign on to the bill, the sources said. The agreement would almost certainly give House Speaker Nancy Pelosi the 216 votes she needs to secure an historic health reform vote by day’s end – capping a year-long drive to achieve Obama’s signature legislative goal.

This reminds me of Nancy Pelosi's so-called "ardent catholic" declaration while she "ardently" works to misquote, misstate, misrepresent and foil actual Catholic theology. Finally a first step against the travesty that is this country's healthcare system. Anyone who defends it is moronic and has the blood of thousands on their hands. This will save thousands upon thousands of lives. Perhaps our infant mortality rate may become better than Cuba's. Perhaps cancer patients will get treatment sooner so they don't die. Both sides played party politics to the detriment of the American people to an extent and that is not what they were elected to do. Actually, the repeal would only push that back to the current regulations.

The GOP WILL point out the vast increase in premiums to all Americans to pay for those who don't want to work and don't want to take care of their health being guaranteed "free" health care at their expense.

The GOP WILL point out the vast amount of new expense pushed onto companies, forcing them to lay off more employees and putting even more people out of work.

The GOP WILL point out the market collapse and business contraction caused by this law's massive new tax on capital gains, including merely buying and selling a home.

The GOP WILL point out how the spiraling deficits caused by this bill drove down the US's credit rating and shrunk our economy.

For welfare addicts like John and Sam, none of those are relevant, because they don't have jobs and pay taxes. This is all about moochers like them voting themselves a brand-new check increase with the help of pathetic whores like Pelosi and Obama, who, as is noted, exempted themselves from having to follow any of these rules.
