Consulting various friends on the Right, we are either on the verge of armed insurrection, or have suddenly leaped so far into the muck of the Euro-socialist swamp, our poor America will never be able to climb back out.
Forget that one court ruling could make the thing, as law, disappear over-night. Forget that only now is Obama embarking on yet another road show to sell what he has wrought, with every recent similar outing of his having been a true flop. Recall that we've known we're in interesting times since the financial meltdown of 2008. And the narrative of those times is not going to be written with any one law, no matter how sweeping - or be evidenced in one election, for that matter. Nor can it be written in any one blog post. A little Paul Ryan, if you will.
In an Obamacare world, what is the GOP’s message? “We need to become the party of liberty and freedom,” Ryan argues. “We’re not doing enough. We can do better, and we will — because we have no choice. If we’re going to offer the country a completely different vision, we can’t be Democratic-lite or resign ourselves to be slightly more efficient managers and tax-collectors for the welfare state. We have to break with that and give people a clear and distinct difference.”
There are hundreds, even thousands of blog posts to be written, really. There's a host of elections, too many to list, both in 2010 and 2012. Somewhere in all that the narrative of our times will be written. But none of us can know, write, or otherwise pronounce it, today. It will be written by what it is we do everyday to own that narrative, not whatever it is we happen to think it is today. However an unusual source for such advice my usually fiery self may seem to be, trust me - patience, people, patience. Things have a way of working out - if you're willing to do the work over time.
I don't know about you, but I'm going to chill out for a spell. heh!

While at some level, I agree with the patience approach. I agree there are things that may help turn this around in time.
On the other hand....the time for passivity and traditional rules of "speaking about politics" is over. In many aspects, we, as a country and government, are no longer working under traditional rules of party vs. party, but anti-Americans against freedom loving Americans. I, personally, have scrubbed the old adage that you can't talk politics to friends and family....I MUST talk about it now, offensive to some or not. I don't care. America matters that much. Our free and easy ride is over for now.
Patience is a virtue as they say, but given the circumstances and the Socialist and soft tyrannical creep going on, I would say that time is of the essence in turning huge swaths of this around.
Do I have all of the answers on how to do that in a timely manner? NO. But we must NOW put our anger and energy toward turning it around...I personally don't want to rely on some lawsuit that gets settled in five years.
My gut tells me this bill's passing is the beginning of our fight, but that it also will nurture the arrogance and bold ideology of the Left. In other words, they are on a roll.
I am a person who sleeps easy and well most every night. I had a VERY hard time sleeping last night. I suspect many other Americans did as well.
Thanks for your great posts....let's turn this around.

Dan, I agree we need to be patient and shore up our allies.
However, can we hold off the libs until November? It seems so far away, and I know they won't waste any time.

Hear that sound? It's the inevitable crushing wheel of progress. There are those who push that wheel and those that get crushed. History always forgets the latter.

I am really liking Paul Ryan.I admittedly had not heard of him a month ago but he is right on spot.Conservatism as of last night has been rendered irrelevant and as he said, to bring in conservatives to lead the country if they are simply reduced to being "slightly more efficient tax collectors for this socialist system" then we are genie's in a bottle, our voice is corked up tightly and can never be heard.
Repealing this bill had better be more than a catchy campaign slogans, they better be a massive laser focused assault on absolute reversal of this garbage but unfortunately I heard Mr. Corker on Fox a bit ago talking about how some things in the reconciliation bill are good and need to be fixed. This kind of talk will not solve our problems, those who wish to play that way need some serious heat from those of us looking for conservatives who are ready to go nuclear and not stop until it's repealed.

Keep pushing Sirowski right over the cliff and to your death. Afterwards we conservatives will make sure that we climb down and piss on your stinking corps.
Dan at some point this will turn violent, the doctor shortage is going to happen and people will know that the Dems did this. So when the inevitable happens and some grieving family members shoots a Dem politician it is important not to condem them. You don't have to encourage violence, but don't get all teary eyed when some lefty gets offed either. The best thing to say will be "Bad things happen to Bad people and they get what they deserve."

OK folks, time to roll up your sleeves, break out your wallets, and get going- we have a lot of work to do in order get these socialist weenies out of office in November. There's a whole host of things that have to fall right for the liberal-oppressives in order to get their Frankenstein monster into operation, and continuing to hold Congress is a big part of it. There are a lot of moneybombs out there to make weenie blue dogs former congress critters. Try this one, for example:

I can wait until November 2.
Doesn't mean the tenor of my discourse will become more sugary. To the contrary.
The anger is not going away.
It is not going to dissipate.
And if the Dem's think for one fookin minute they are going to attmept more of this?
Then yeah .... that dam may burst. For real. And I ain' juss wheestlin Dixie.

good advice ... lets keep our powder dry in the near term (1-2 months)
The Democrats in Congress have eaten their seed corn to pass ObamaCare and should have little left to fight with for Cap 'n Trade and Card Check ... they simply cannot do anything about the economy between now and Nov (they could but won't, it is in their DNA) ...
since we won't have unlimited resources but luckily have limited targets ... every House Dems is a target and every Senate Dem up for re-election in 2010 is also a target ... step one is to attack the leadership agressively, even Dems in "safe" seats ... the dems will expend too much to defend leadership seats and reduce their available support for the far weaker Dems in the House ... in those weak Dem districts lets not get into divisive primary battles but unite around a possible winner even if that candidate is not "pure" ...
No, it doesn't mean anyone with an R behind their name ... lets get behind viable winners ...
in those states that share media markets there should be joint commercials with GOP candidates working together on the message ... any media event in one district that shares the media market should have the neighboring GOP candidate "drop in" to lend support and get the message out ...
Every GOP candidate should hang OPRO (Obama, Pelosi, Reid, ObamaCare) around the neck of their opponent, even if they voted No ... they are a Democrat and can't be trusted in the future ...
They tiny number of real people who will see any benifits from ObamaCare will be completely overwhelmed by the number of Americans who will be harmed by and pay for ObamaCare ...
Nobody wants to try to fix SS or Medicare because every working American has paid into those systems and thinks they deserve the benefits ... of course anyone under 30 who thinks that SS will be there for them is being willfully ignorant ...
No Americans who will pay into ObamaCare will see any benefits and they will gladly vote to eliminate it ...
