Following up on an Instapundit link to some coffee party astro-turfing, Big Government's h/t to here wasn't working - link needs fixed.
And here's some more background on Coffee Party organizer Baxter Swilley. He was John Edward's MO political director at the time.
Political Director Baxter Swilley Experience includes political director for US Representative Jan Schakowsky and campaign manager of Jackson, MS Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.'s 2001 re-election campaign.
Oh, then he was spokesperson for the Illinois Lt. Gov, who threatened his girlfriend with a knife. No wonder he doesn't want his resume to be known. heh!
Cohen's spokesman, Baxter Swilley, wouldn't comment specifically late Saturday about Eneman's statement.
Also, given his leading this Chicago Olympic movement for 2016, ya think Obama might not be too far away from this clown?
An interview with Baxter Swilley, 32 who founded the committee called Citizens for 2016 whose mission is to raise public support for the Olympics in Chicago Thanks to www.rogerspark.com

"Baxter Swilley"! LOL. Fields would have loved that among his collection of pseudonyms, perhaps even Glenn Gould. Love it!

This is beside your main point, but Cohen was never Lt. Governor. He ran for the Democratic nomination, and won, but withdrew shortly thereafter. The election is in November 2010.

A name worthy of a Rand novel, though technically, wouldn't this be more of a stalking horse than an Astroturfing?

Hallooooo CNN, are you listening? This is a GREAT story.

The Tea Party movement was growing for months before the legacy media paid any attention to it, and then only to dub it the "Teabagger" movement.
These Coffee Party beta males and alpha females are getting press even before they've formed.
Of course CNN, et al,m are going to ignore the astroturfung angle. More then that, you can expect to see camera action that makes 30 astroturfers look to have the same size demonstration as 2,000 Tea Party people.
This bias is one reason why the legacy media are going bankrupt.

Good lord, the dude's a three-time loser: John Edward, Scott Lee Cohen, and the Chicago Olympics.
This is the quality of the astroturfers behind the Coffee Party?

The Coffee Party is more moderate, whereas the Tea Party is extremist. The Tea Party has all that extremist stuff about liberty, free market, self-reliance, low taxes, debt reduction, and the Founding Fathers - nutjob stuff.

Jim, the coffeepothead movement is cool, too, and has all those white people who really love black people, and have black friends and all. I know it because they said it, but the invitations to the black people got lost in the mail, or did the poodle eat them?

It's weird, templar, because why wouldn't black people want to attend a meeting with white people who feel uncomfortable talking to black people? Odd they didn't show up.

Baxter Swilley? Instapundit says it sounds like an Atlas Shrugged name, and I agree. What actually comes to mind is Ellsworth Twohey from The Founainhead.
