In the first place, Kucinich is lying when it comes to Obama not wanting a government take over of health care. Every honest, informed individual knows single payer is still the end game. Practically speaking, that is a government takeover. But the post 9/11 reference? That's just code for the Bush years. They've had the WH and Congress for over a year and still can't generate a broadly compelling argument for their own plans and policies. So they're still left with trying to blame Bush.
The dude sold out, unable to even stand up for his own alleged principles in the end. And maybe he liked the plane ride, who knows.
The health care debate has been severely hampered by fear, myths, and by hyper-partisanship. The President clearly does not advocate socialism or a government takeover of health care. The fear that this legislation has engendered has deep roots, not in foreign ideology but in a lack of confidence, a timidity, mistrust and fear which post 911 America has been unable to shake.

You can't say that Kucinich is a cheap date. Back in the day the guys with the cool cars could take the girls out--and screw 'em. But really, how much does a Corvette cost, compared to a 747?

Can someone explain to me the logic of announcing your vote when it is not certian there is going to be a vote? What exactly is he now "supporting", the Senate Bill or the Senate Bill as amended by reconciliation? Does it matter?
I just don't understand why he would play his hand publicly when the "cover" of deem and pass is on the table. Could he not effectively vote "yes" via deem and pass without exposing himself to criticism as a flip flopper etc.?
Holding a press ocnference to announce your change of heart to the world, when there will apparently be no need to do so, just seems nonsensical even be the standards of the unhinged dwarf Kucinich. Somebody enlighten me.

dennis kucinich:
the american public sees obama as another bush term.
************
(interesting report, which was at the beginning of the partial privatization of social security)
"April 1, 2002 -- A poll conducted for NPR shows that a large majority of Americans are worried about whether they will have enough money saved to retire. That's no surprise. What is surprising is that the same poll shows that despite the recent recession, declines in financial markets, and the collapse of Enron, Americans remain open to the idea of investing part of their Social Security taxes in the stock market."

we know how that one turned out...

Kucinich plays a gambit familiar to anyone who has been unfortunate and unwise enough to engage a hard Lefty in substantive dialogue. He denies as a vicious calumny the notion that Obamacare constitutes a gub takeover of medicine, and on what does he found this assertion? Well, since of course Kucinich himself is a big proponent of an explicity takeover and socialization of medicine, he is an expert and this ain't it! Yes, Kucinich objected to O-care BECAUSE IT DID NOT GO FAR ENOUGH! Most of his address is spent explaining to the Lefty base that this compromise on full-out commie medicine is still principled because it bows to practicality but then he says that he trusts Barry to make good on full socialization in the future! Simply put, even after decades of debasement in education, media, business and politics, socialism is still just not selling with the electorate generally. As such, the socialist has to dissemble and fabricate a more appealling facade. Kucinich however is a man devoid of principles. He is an actor. Check his history and you will see he rose initially as a racist and nativist in Cleveland. He is one of the few players on the national stage more degenerate, devious and dangerous than Obama.
