Tyrants always think they've won until they've been defeated. It's the nature of the beast. And the nature of this beastly administration is to try and rub your face in it before it's true. Don't buy into it.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the healthcare bill will pass by next weekend.
“We’ll have the votes when the House votes, I think, within the next week,” Gibbs said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Gibbs can have his say on Sundays, but Sundays aren't when this game is played. We'll have our say directly to them on Tuesday! oops! Also, don't forget to sign the No Reconciliation petition in the sidebar at top right. -> Every voice matters, now!

Ahem: day after tomorrow, Tuesday the 16th, boss.

Let's see. The teabaggers are going to shutdown DC. If like in the past, they will be afraid to get on the subway.

A great victory for the American people is at hand and a defeat for the dark forces of conservatism.

Excellent news. We can finally show the world that the US values a healthy and vibrant citizenry. How can we progress and prosper if we cannot care for our sick? Sick people don't go to work, and then don't pay taxes. Sick people clog our emergency rooms - and pass the costs onto all of us. Sick people need to be cared for so we can employ them.
We are the last industrialized country who doesn't offer health care for their citizens - and it will finally be corrected. Next stop: Universal, single payor for all....A mark of how a country is doing can always be seen through how they care for their citizens.

I am not necessarily against nationalized health care. Linking health insurance to employment is a form of economic enslavement. Given this administration's ability to concoct a pork product and call it a Stimulus Bill, I do not want this "healthcare" bill to pass.
Where were the hearings on C-SPAN? That lie alone should make people pause before they drive this mysterious piece of legislation into law.
Has Congress and Obama and his cabinet committed themselves and their family to receiving no more health care that what is contained in this bill for the average citizen? If not, why not?
Posted by: What Kind of Care Do Artistocrats Receive? | Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 02:18 PM
Agreed. If Congress likes their health care plan, we should have access to what they use. We are the bosses, they are the employees. Enough of the imperial nature of our ruling class. We are the foundation for America, not the priviledged in Congress.

Notice his statement's careful phrasing suggests he doesn't have the votes yet.

Thank you for this blog. I believe that we will prevail. I continue to learn of young people who voted for Obama, but now wish they had not. The latest is my son's best friend from their early years. After high school, my son went off to become a Marine, his friend went off to Arizona State (ASU). This young ASU student proudly displayed his Obama bumper sticker on his car---his parents are (or should I say... were?) die hard Democrats. The entire family has come around to seeing what Obama really is. Not the centrist that many believed, but a "dyed in the wool" progressive. The MSM and "Just words" Obama really fooled a lot of people, didn't they? But MOST are coming around. Will it be too late? I still believe that we will prevail. And to people like Buck Johnson, go ahead and call us tea baggers. I will wear the badge proudly. If that is the best argument that you have, then we have definitely won the battle, and I promise you, we will win the war. That's a promise.

Gibbs is such an arrogant little twit.

buckjohnson,
"A great victory for the American people is at hand and a defeat for the dark forces of conservatism."
If passage of ObamaCare, in all its shambling, slimy, grubby, backroom-dealing, politically tone-deaf, unconstitutional glory is your idea of "victory," then dare we ask what your concept of "defeat" is?
Jeez, buckaroo banzai, get back on your meds. Trust me, reality is a much nicer place to be.

To the warmonger Marine mommy: There is no war, little lady. No war except within your own home schooled, authoritarian head. Americans are not at war. You are at war with the failures of the GOP, the Bush invasions, the Bush tax cuts for the rich (through reconciliation), torture, our ruined reputation around the globe and all the other things brought to you by the cult, formerly known as the GOP. You are at war with yourselves.
Isn't if odd that the religious on the right side always convey their images in a fighting or warrior context? I don't think God wants us to view our respectable differences with a 'war'. Maybe a respectful debate - without your tendency toward fighting all who disagree with you.
Force is for wimps who cannot explain why their ideas are more valid than others - and I was a Marine.

Jimbo,
I won't even waste my time responding. But thanks for your comments. We are still a country where freedom of speech is allowed. Thank goodness.

He's LYING.
FORCE THE VOTE SO IT FAILS.
Then we win. We need a GOP Congress in 2011. Justice Stevens and Ginsburg will be retiring soon. We have to be in a situation where we can force Obama to take a strict Contitutionalist or risk a Supreme Court with empty seats.

buckjohnson, Henry, Jimbo,
So what planet are you pathetic, collectivist retards from? You sound like you pine for the joy of living in a socialist workers paradise like Cuba.
I've read some incredibly stupid comments from trolls on various blogs but you idjits take the cake.

Marine Mom, you are right to ignore jimbo..in his looking glass leftist world, he talks about repectful debate while he calls you various names such as little lady, warmonger etc. which shows his true colors.

Let the delusional right wallow in their teabagger mania while the rest of the nation marches on.

Looks like the basement blog response rooms, staffed with college interns are in full force. Just make sure they know where the cigars go.

Hey, Jimbo, and you other Progressive douche bags. A civilized society doesn't MURDER IT'S BABIES, either.

Maybe somebody should give a Chicago Olympics T-shirt to Gibbs & a couple of the previous commentators, because no speech can hide the effects of reality for too long. Just check Obama's or Congress's poll numbers or the "unexpected" employment numbers & explain why increasing hourly costs of every employee is a good idea, especially when they've already admitted it will increase premiums & still not insure millions.

"Force is for wimps who cannot explain why their ideas are more valid than others" - Jimbo
And here Jimbo was kind enough to explain why the Democrats are using this parliamentary parlor trick to get their bill passed - they know that their idea isn't valid...
Thanks, Jimbo!!!!!

Wouldn't it be great for Dan Riehl to live in an actual tyranny for five seconds? We'd never have to read his ridiculous hyperbole about "tyrant" press flacks like Robert Gibbs ever again. Side benefit: Dan would actually learn something.

Every time I hear Robert Gibbs speak I am reminded of Baghdad Bob.

Gibbs .... on Fox? Yeah, I did a lil double take/wtf yesterdee.
Crow's best served cold (I hear).

How interesting, to watch the clown-act comical Bagdad Bob, with his forgone conclusion smuglook that the Obama-Slaughter care will soon be the law of the land; to think that the manipulative scheme of statism, againts the will of the people, can withstand the Tsunami wave of vox populi.
History is in the making by the unstoppable power dynamic of the people (the deemed grassroot astroturf hoi polloi) that make the great history of the nation. Legislators of principle that love this great nation, count the cost, vote with your conscience, not with the progressive party line that is destroying the Democrat, before you plunge this nation into the precipice of unsustainable national debt, less be swept away in history by the great force of vox populi (vox dei).
