at the risk of providing empathy for the the youths...

if they actaully realized that the current boomer generation is paying for their LAVISH benefits, based on borrowing against their future earnings, these kids would explode.

my guess is that they are assuming that the 500k their parents will leave them is worth the same 500k, today.

maybe if the econ classes taught them that today's 150 dollar ounce of pot, will be going for 30k an ounce, they'd wake up. the sad thing is that they wouldn't...

we are all in the same fish bowl. it is the sad reality that keeps socialism alive, despite it's terminal defects.

"We're all in the same fish bowl."

Exactly. What most of us forget is that we are the products of the same system we're working to change. iow, we have to think completely outside the box wrt to regaining our freedom. First, we have to learn and understand what that means. We were never taught the meaning of freedom in grade school, high school or college. We've never learned it from any of our traditional institutions, from politics to religion.

From Social Security to food stamps, from property taxes to marriage licenses, from military adventurism and nation-building to nationalized corporations and banking - none of it amounts to freedom. None of it can be justified constitutionally.

As an aside, it appears that the left has once again led the way into violence in America. Which is contrary to their narrative about those violent, right-wing militant T.E.A. Parties.

as an atheist(former catholic), I have to dispute your perception of the failure of religion. Religion, for the most part, has been the foundation of the society we have. It establishes the morals, as in "thou shalt not kill" at a very early age. The one common thread of christianity is the belief that their god/son god suffered for them, and that there is nobility in physical suffering. The religious are the ones who would sacrifice their own personal well being, for the sake of others.

govt, otho, provides that they will alleviate suffering, by taking property of others and giving it to their constituents.

religion emphasizes the struggle of existence, while govt denies it.

Well, the black farmers certainly are not in the same fishbowl I'm in.

Just wait 'til they find out 4 years of college will get them a manager's job at McDonalds; if they're lucky, and work real hard at it.

I work at a university and Obama visted our campus several times. My attitude about the younger generation paying for Obama's policies: Fine with me--you wanted him, now you pay the bill. I hope the younger generation that was so gung ho for him ends up paying higher taxes and higher whatever until they kick the bucket. You get what you pay, er, vote for. And I don't want to hear any complaints from the younger generation--they are getting exactly what they wanted.

"Fine with me--you wanted him, now you pay the bill."

wait til they have kids who elect meghan mccain.
