So, Conrad wins a bizarre carve out he doesn't want to answer to, it gets exposed, then he asks that it be dropped for the people's good? BS. The Democrats started this, there will be no prisoners in the revolution this time around. Conrad also opened the door to reconciliation right after Brown won in Mass. He looks like both stupid and a dirtbag as far as I can tell. His party is willing to rip the Constitution to shreads to get what they want. It's time for the American people to rip them apart. See how they like it for a change.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) has asked House negotiators to scrap a provision in the reconciliation package that would have benefited his home state.
Conrad had won a carve-out for the Bank of North Dakota that would have allowed it to continue making student loans even after Congress passed a student lending overhaul.

Whatever happened to integrity? The Dims ought to be impeached.

Conrad is both.
Oh for the days of men of honor... George Washington refused the salary the Continental Congress wanted to give him as Commander of the new army. Writing instead:
"As to pay, Sir, I beg leave to assure the Congress that, as no pecuniary consideration could have tempted me to have accepted this arduous employment at the expense of my domestic ease and happiness, I do not wish to make any profit from it. I will keep an exact account of my expenses; those I doubt not they will discharge, and that is all I desire."
Eat those words and try to digest them Mr. Conrad - along with every one of your colleagues.

Your tactical point is well taken, but allow me a strategic one as well.

Soooo.... Senator Conrad, you win a bizarre carve out that you don't want to answer to and then drop it "for the people's good" when it gets exposed?
How very f***ing generous of you. Because you're such a nice guy, we'll do you a favor and stick you at the end of the line going up the scaffold.

Well it's the Dems. They're making and selling unicorns. But they seem to have lost the message war as one Dem consultant whined on Hannity this evening. This deal for Senator Conrad was known as "The Bismarck Bank Job" within 20 minutes. It's easy to pin these sort of label/tails on the Dem Donkey these days.
