Politico is reporting of confusion around the parliamentarian's ruling as to how to get both the Senate bill and possible fixes onto Obama's desk at the same time. The latest suggests it can be done.
But according to reporting by POLITICO’s David Rogers, the accounts aren’t accurate and misconstrue what the Senate parliamentarians have said. That is that reconciliation must amend law but this could be done without the Senate bill being enacted first. “It is wholly possible to create law and qualify law before the law is on the books,” said one person familiar with (the) situation
But should that really matter? We are talking about 20% of the economy of what has always been a proud, honest and free country, the most successful in all the world. We're talking about the future of health care for generations of Americans as yet unborn. And this Democrat Congress really thinks this Keystone Cop approach to such significant legislation is the way to map out that future? This is the most disgraceful Congress, the executive branch and the Democrat Party have ever looked in our history. An impeachable offense can be dealt with and moved on from. This crime will resonate with Americans for years to come.
This is beyond any notion of popularity ratings. Not a single Democrat who signs on to this fiasco would be worthy of serving in high office in the United States. They will be breaking faith with the American people in a way never imagined, earning the title tyrant, more so than politician. And they'd be well advised to look to history to see how the American people have reacted to tyrants in the past.
There are far too many Americans extremely engaged with many outraged over the schemes the Democrats have been floating in recent days. History may be all that's left of what will be viewed as a despicable political party if they truly believe they can get away with appeasing their base at the expense of the majority in the reprehensible manner they seem to be planning.
There will be no rock heavy enough for them to hide under, waiting for some imagined recovery from this debacle all of America will see and judge more harshly than any political act they've witnessed in their lifetimes. And every ounce of blame for it will fall directly on them with consequences I doubt they can even imagine today.
For example, if the big bill itself amends some Social Security statute, reconciliation could be written to do the same --with changes sought by the House. Then if reconciliation is passed and signed by President Barack Obama after he signs the larger bill, the changes made in reconciliation would prevail.
This jives with what Pulse sources were saying soon after the first wave of stories hit – in essence, don’t take the reported parliamentarian’s declaration to the bank.House leaders are hoping to approve the Senate bill, but hold onto it until the package of fixes also passes both chambers. Otherwise, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will have to convince members to vote for a Senate bill that they strongly dislike without a guarantee that the fixes get approved as well. House Democrats are worried that if they pass the Senate bill – and it is signed into law – the Senate would not act on the package of fixes.

'Democrat' Party?
Dan, this is just another of one your little pitchfork carrying slurred rants (not as hysterical as some of the past ones, but...).
Once again, you offer NOTHING, you suggest no alternatives, and you show/have no real concern for the matter at hand.
The fact that there is a debate/discussion about health care reform going on is almost irrelevant to what you spend your time saying, which is essentially 'I hate the Democratic party', 'I hate Barak Obama', etc.
You consider yourself an analyst, a pundit...what exactly?
Your opinions on any of this are about as valid as a high school cheerleader's comments about the opposing team.
Rah, rah, rah.
"...all of America will see and judge more harshly than any political act they've witnessed in their lifetimes."
Glenn Beck giving you lessons in hyperbole now?
Might be time to go back to the Natalie Holloway beat...or maybe Mark Levin needs a driver.

2 cents? what part of every representative shall have their vote recorded before the president can sign a bill into law is so hard for you to get? If this wonderful healthcare bill is so popular, so necessary, and so legal then why must it be set into law with such subterfuge?
How is what the Dem's are trying to do not the beginnings of a tyranny? And yes, Dan is right on one more thing. We veterans swore an oath that we each take seriously, that many of us bled for, and we will know what to do if this crap keeps going.
Please stay out of the way.Thank you.

What did Nancy say? We have to pass the bill so we can see what's in it. hahahahahaha how about we see it first?

“It is wholly possible to create law and qualify law before the law is on the books,” said one person familiar with (the) situation"
But last I checked that still takes 60 votes in the Senate.

"We're talking about the future of health care for generations of Americans as yet unborn"
When did these people start thinking about the welfare of the unborn? They not only want to allow abortion but want to fund it with taxes.

CaptBlasto -
Most every veteran would knock you down and not let you up again if you ever tried acting out your
little minuteman fantasy.
And Dan, lest there be any question the kind of fans and supporters your little powdered wig & musket b.s. soliloquies attract...
Rick,
Twisted logic. And you're just taking the bait set out by folks who could care less about the abortion issue - but they know how to get the base riled up.

Thank God for Mike2Cents. He is saying just what I have been saying on this pathetic little high school musical blog. You all talk like you can stand by your words - you can't. You don't read the bill (paying for abortion, coverage for illegals - NOT IN THE BILL) so you are free to continue to lie about it's contents. Read the freakin bill! Then move your lips with an opinion. If you can't read the many large words in the bill, then find a 3rd grader to assist you. This is too important for the low brow GOP followers here to avoid. Read the freakin bill!
And for the Capt. Blasto's veiled threats of violence to those who disagree - isn't that special? If you were a proud memeber of our armed forces, you would remember humility being a main tenant of the service. Your schoolyard threats are useless in our democracy. If you feel better being an authoritarian, go to Somalia. They like big mouthed, frightened losers there. You talk big, because you are not.

Impeachment is not a legal process, it's a political one. The only "impeachable" offense Obama can commit is one where the GOP has a majority in the House and at least 67 anti-Obama Senators in the upper house.
This is a waste of time. The peoples' remedy remains the same: undercut his power in 2010, fire him in 2012.

What a load of propagandistic BS!
Can you say this stuff with a straight face. LOL

"[Democrat Congressmen] will be breaking faith with the American people in a way never imagined, earning the title tyrant, more so than politician."
That's an insult.....to REAL tyrants. Hey, to be a real tyrant--like Hitler, Mussolini, or Stalin-- you need to show some genuine cunning and intelligence. These cliff-diving Donk fools are displaying neither.
Two words for the Democrats come November: BUH-BYE!!!!

Jimbo- You are ignorant about the Bill, there isn't 'one' written. Ask Nancy Pelosi, she wants to pass something so we can find out what is in it.
Posted by: zaugg | Friday, March 12, 2010 at 01:51 PM
zaugg, pay no attention to the resident troll. He's one of the AFL-CIO goofs surfing the interwebs and posting his stupidity on conservative sites. Only problem is, he hurts his own cause by being so blatantly stupid. Typical union-thug, all he knows is what the DNC talking points tell him. There is not one original thought in his head.

Templar Knight -
Keep telling yourself things like that, if it makes you feel better.
"Union-thug"...really?
And you're with CaptBlasto?
And kinda funny hearing you telling people to 'pay no attention' to the 'resident troll' - when you seem to be paying quite a bit...

2Cents, looks like I stepped on a nerve. Is jimbo one of your sockpuppets? As for your silly remarks on veterans and CaptBlasto, I'll refer you to Ken on the newest post. He says it about as well as I've heard it said.
