Also, some previous Pelosi Air exploits via Michelle Malkin.
Update: Another date in question is April 13, 2007 for travel on or around the 15th. That would be a weekend right after Pelosi was feted by Babs at her mountain top retreat in Malibu.
MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - April 13, 2007 -- Barbra Streisand welcomed Nancy Pelosi to her bluff-top Malibu estate for a fundraising dinner that took in $1.3 million for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"She's a very good friend of Nancy Pelosi and she wanted to celebrate the first female speaker of the House," said Streisand publicist Dick Guttman.
The 120 invited guests paid up to $50,000 a couple to attend Thursday night's dinner party inside a large white tent erected on the Point Dume property. The fundraiser was an effort to increase the Democrats' majority in the House of Representatives in the 2008 elections, Guttman said.
It was the first fundraiser at Streisand's home since a 1986 concert that raised $1.2 million for Democrats, he said.
Pelosi arrived after appearing on NBC's "Tonight Show With Jay Leno," where she apologized for being late. She'd had to cast a critical vote, she explained to the late-night talk-show host.
Leno said he understood democracy takes precedence, but Pelosi said it wasn't that - she had to cast a vote for "American Idol" contestant Sanjaya Malakar.
Among the guests at the Streisand dinner were Eva Longoria, Melissa Etheridge, Tammy Lynn Michaels, David Foster, Kenny G, Josh Groban, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Amy Brenneman, J.J. Abrams, Dick Van Dyke, Nita Whitaker and Norman Lear.
Also on hand were Democratic members of Congress including U.S. Reps. Hilda Solis, Chris Van Hollen, Xavier Becerra, Loretta Sanchez, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Brad Sherman and Henry Waxman.
I've been looking into what was news during the period of some curious Pelosi travel requests for her family.
22-Feb-2007: A military jet is requisitioned for the sole travel needs of the Speaker's son, Paul Jr.
Paul Jr didn't seem to be making any news as regards government business at the time. However, Nancy Pelosi was in Arizona at least on February 20/21 of that year. Does anyone really know what Pelosi, and apparently her family, are doing flying around on government planes at our expense?
But the California Democrat was focused on a younger group of students Tuesday. Pelosi planned her schedule around lunch with two of her grandchildren and four of their classmates at Scottsdale’s Cochise Elementary School.
“They’re doing the most important work in our country, teaching our children,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi said with a son-in-law who teaches special education at a Tempe high school and a daughter who teaches special education in Texas, she hears a lot about educational issues “at the dinner table and over the phone.”
Pelosi also said she was impressed with a lot of the school’s resources, including a media lab where students film morning announcements and a special science classroom where teachers can get help from a scientist conducting classroom experiments.
After the tour, Pelosi sat with her grandchildren and their friends in an outdoor courtyard the school reserves for parents coming to eat with their kids, her grinning granddaughter sitting on her lap.
Pelosi said that while her grandchildren understand from attending her swearingin ceremony that she has an important job and know it’s unusual to have a female speaker of the House of Representatives, they don’t really know what she does.

sexist ... you haven't pointed out any travel irregularities by Harry R. (Male) of the Senate ... I wonder why ?

Can one of you legal eagles point out if this behavior - misappropriation of government funds - just might be illegal? (Ill eagle?)
Sorry about the pun.

From the expense reports we've been seeing, I'd say they were doing pretty nicely.

Another example of the 'built-in" disconnect from our reps. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that applies to us should apply to them as well. As long as those making the laws are not subject to them it will continue to get worse on all fronts. I used to wonder how Washington D.C. could be so crime ridden and the seat of the law makers. Then I realized the law makers do not live there so they DO NOT CARE. What is crime like in their neighborhoods? Do they think the citizenry deserve any less? Apparently, they do.
