Not that they need another one. What concerns me about this story Stacy dug up while in Alabama is that a state AG is often in a good spot for a Senate run. As Alabama's Senators aren't getting any younger, the story deserves to be aired and debunked and refuted if there's no there there.
John McCain seems to be backing him now out of loyalty, perhaps. But it looks as though he did drop him from his website back during the campaign when these stories first surfaced. It causes one to wonder why Shelby and Sessions are backing the challenger against an incumbent. That usually isn't done without good reason.
While an unpleasant story to look into, perhaps - what the Right doesn't need is a scandal in waiting courtesy of a prominent member of the GOP. Clearly the Left was on to this last year.
Nasty rumors are a dime a dozen in politics and, as I said, this might be just another left-wing blog smear. If so, the rumor needs to be refuted and the rumor-mongers silenced, rather than to permit a vicious whisper campaign to continue damaging innocent reputations. As it is now, the widespread gossip about Troy King portrays him as a cross between Jack Abramoff and Ted Haggard, a major Republican scandal just waiting to happen.
How long can Alabama’s political reporters ignore it?

It would seem that it wouldn't be all that hard to determine if King is still residing in the same house as his wife.

The rumors about King flew with some ferocity on the internet back in 2008. However, they never cracked the mainstream press here in Alabama and it all seems to have died down some time ago. As such, I think that this is old news and rather it is simply new to RSM.
Given that King made some noises about running for governor and is running for re-election to the AG slot, I would have expected the rumors to have resurfaced well prior to now if there was anything to them.

"prominent member of the GOP" ...
so now the AG of Alabama is a prominent member of the GOP ?
The AG of NY got caught in a prostitution sting that didn't rub off on the Democratic party as a whole. I seem to remember the Govenor of NJ got caught up in a similar thing years ago. Didn't NJ elect a Democrat the next time around ?
What is the MSM going to do ? Stick a microphone in a Senators face and ask him/her their opinion of King ? Who ? will be the appropriate response.
