CBS has an image up, saying the video is coming, soon. Tell me again who the childish ones are, here? About all this administration seems good for right now are the jokes, frankly. Maybe Gibbs should have written, "Get a job!"
Gibbs' move was a jab at Sarah Palin, who was shown to have written notes on her hand at a speech at the Tea Party convention Saturday after making an implicit criticism of the president for using a TelePrompTer.
Gibbs quipped that he had made the notes in case he and the press corps are snowed in. He said the words written on his hands included "eggs," and that he had written "toast" but crossed it out.
Palin wrote the words "Energy," "Budget cuts" (which was crossed out), "Tax," and "Lift Americans Spirits" on the inside of her left hand.

This is one of the "Idiot and Chiefs" most trusted advisors? I bet Obama goes to sleep tonite with ink on his penis...from the services of his "handy" assistant Gibbs!

i saw the "corpsmen" video for the first time, last night.
didn't realize he did it three times.
someone needs to get gibbs a mirror.

Somebody tell the idiot you make toast. You buy bread.
Posted by: Just A Grunt | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:15 PM
Is this for real? How could he be that easy. Better give him a mirror why don't you.

Robert "Massengill" Gibbs. Such a douche.
Posted by: cbd | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:19 PM
It would have been a lot funnier if it had said "mene mene tekel upharsin."
Posted by: Mr. D | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:20 PM
"Let them eat cake" seems appropriate at this juncture.
Posted by: Dr. Foo | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:20 PM
well at least Gibbs hasn't resorted to a telepromter yet ...
Posted by: Jeff | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:26 PM
Heh. It was funny...
When Sarah wrote "Hi, Mom" on her hand...
Any intelligent person who thought it would be funny to jab her about it after that...maybe not so intelligent...

I am continually amazed that Democrats charge the red flag every chance they get, and by their mockery and condescension continue to make Gov. Palin an issue. They diminish themselves and elevate her and her supporters every time they do it. They put her on the same level as a sitting president by doing it.
As a Palin supporter, I don't mind. But simply in terms of political common sense, the Obama team never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
Posted by: Lexington Green | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:27 PM
I find Gibbs increasingly amusing. He reminds me so much of those mediocre, but earnest, students in grad school who were convinced they were the smartest, funniest people in the universe. Epic fail.
Posted by: JorgXMcKie | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:28 PM
Gibbs is the most incompetent Press Secretary in my lifetime. But he is simply par for the course when it comes to competence in Obama's inner circle. This is just more evidence that Obama and his core team are immature, inexperienced and have a tin ear when it comes to politics. They think it's funny, so they think EVERYONE will think it's funny. After all, if such brilliant folks as they get a kick out of it, then it must by definition be brilliant humor. That's how they think.
It would never occur to Gibbs that doing a sophomoric stunt like this might interfere with his actual JOB which is to carry the President's message, not to obscure and stomp all over the President's message. The fact that Obama doesn't even realize that Gibbs is hurting his message just shows how totally incompetent Obama actually is.
But since I am one of those who wants Obama to fail, the more of this infantile nonsense they pull, the better I like it.

Palin scores again! The lady has world class management skills I tell you.
Posted by: Jim R. | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:36 PM
Well Gibbs reminds me of the nerds in high school who try to copy the "cool" kids. By the time they've copied the cool ones, that's so "last year" that the nerd looks foolish again. But that's been life for Gibbsie--always trying to look cool and always looking life a nerd.

Joy Behar and Ron Reagan Jr. also made a huge deal out of Sarah Palin's palm. It gives them a way to attack her without bothering to rebut anything she actually says. It's all about the ad hominem, getting in as much condescension as possible, while completely ignoring anything substantive. One could make a point about Mrs. Palin's use of some words on her hand while criticizing a President who uses some words on a teleprompter, though even then it's not like she had her whole speech on her palm. Doubling down on a personal attack isn't the way to convince the public that you're the bigger man (or woman). If Mr. Gibbs did that so glibly, I'm sure this was planned and that he had joked with the Prez about it, which completely nullifies any credibility behind the Prez's call to bi-partisanship (also known as "can't we all just get along?").
Posted by: Bryan McRoberts | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:40 PM
It's hard for the Left to argue that Palin's irrelevant and a joke when the president's press secretary takes pot shots at her.
Posted by: Athena | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:43 PM
Hmmn. A strange joke. The tone was rather strained and unctuous. For an administration that has returned to portraying itself as a charismatic outside-the-Beltway administration that is above the fray of politics it does not behave as one. You'd almost think America has a bunch of frat boys and sorority girls in the White House enjoying themselves at the public's expense literally.
Posted by: Mrs. Peperium | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:45 PM
Gibbs is the worst ever press secretary.
Its a tough job - but they couldn't find anyone competent to do it?
Posted by: Lily | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:46 PM
He wrote "bread," not toast. And paying attention to Palin, like w/ Fox, will only make their position worse.
Posted by: REN | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:50 PM
This Marxist Administration is the most inept, and at the same time DESTRUCTIVE to the American Economy and American Security in the history of our Republic.
The people of America are responding and Democrats and this Administration will be gone in 2010 and 2012.
Give em hell, Sarah! Their response to your political ascendence is quite amusing.
Posted by: jgreene | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:52 PM
Anyone with a lick of sense would recognize that Sarah was just utilizin a Texas Palm Pilot. Make a few notes and the palm pilot remembers them. So whats the damn point? And when your boss needs a teleprompter to talk to an elementary school, folks with a fine sense of shame would refrain from lampooning anyone else about using memory devices...

Robert Gibbs is now 'DC Bob'.
Posted by: Arch | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 03:54 PM
"Gibbs quipped that he had made the notes in case he and the press corps are snowed in."
Should this be referred to as Robert Gibb's Snow Job?

Every day that these fools continue to act like the fools they are, we just keep adding to our ranks and numbers. There will be a crushing blow delivered in November.

"Palin wrote the words 'Energy,' 'Budget cuts' (which was crossed out), 'Tax,' and 'Lift Americans Spirits' on the inside of her left hand."
That's quite a trick, writing on the inside of your hand. Is it an arthroscopic procedure? Did she turn her hand inside out to do it?
I'm such an idiot I thought she wrote on the "palm" of her hand, not the inside. I'm grateful to the mainstream media for correcting me.
Posted by: Reckless Imp | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:09 PM
someone should write "inflate to 60 PSI" on Gibbsy's ear. I have a feeling Bobby's boss is not very happy with him right now.
Posted by: mark c | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:11 PM
Boy, Sarah Palin really gets under their skin, doesn't she? Tee hee!!
Posted by: Kelly | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:12 PM
The funny thing is that she would do a better job than any of them.
Posted by: Brian Macker | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:12 PM
If we can fire idiot, Robert Gibbs will be the first in line.
Posted by: myohmy | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:12 PM
I am failing to understand how having a few words written on a hand is dumber than having to read an entire speech off a teleprompter and then groping for words when it malfunctions.
At least we know who wrote those words on Palin's hand. We have no idea who is writing those words on the teleprompter but it apparently isn't Obama. Who is the man behind the curtain?
Posted by: crosspatch | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:13 PM
Gibbs is Worst Press Secretary History. This loser is Amateur and beneath the position of spokesman. Tony Snow and Dana Perrino are brilliant compared the clown s.s. propoganda minister Bonehead Bob Gibbs. MSNBC may hire Gibbs once he learns to speak. Yes Liberals are that small and petty. George W. Bush and his press secretaries look like first class statesmen compared to the small amateurs that occupy the White House.

Did he say "press corpse"?

Posted by: Philip McDaniel | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:21 PM
C'mon. I'd do the same thing by way of saying it's no big deal. Please tell me what about Gibbs' palm was so heinous. Nothing wrong with what Palin did and nothing wrong from Gibbs.
Posted by: TMLane | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:22 PM
Heh. She writes concrete words on her hand to remind her of the issues. He writes worthless, feel-good junk on his. Perfect, ain't it?
Posted by: Cindy | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:23 PM
A year ago all the liberals danced with unicorns and corpsemen in 57 states and sang, "The adults are in charge". hmmm yeah ok sure
Posted by: Lonzilla | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:25 PM
The entire administration is cheapening and degrading the White House and the office of President of the United States. What's most surprising is how openly they flaunt their disregard of traditional decorum. 3 more (long) years to go before we can send this entire bunch of scumbags back to the cesspool that is Chicago.
Posted by: fishinwithflies | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:26 PM
Qu'elle douche!
Posted by: ALEXISTAN | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:27 PM
Do they not realize how very small and sophmoric this makes them look. This makes the public feel better about them why exactly? I suppose it could be funny if it's occuring in the boardroom of a medium sized advertising firm... maybe. But the White House? How utterly unpresidential. I wonder how the rest of the worlds leaders view this behavior.
Posted by: Steve Ducharme | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Kenny, my thought too.
If the press didn't think Gibbs the complete ass, then their perfect rejoinder would be for the press corps to "Dawn" the George Romero zombie make-up and walk around as the "press corpse."
Oh, what fun!

I'll comment on this just as soon as I get back from buying some toast at the store ? anyone have a suggestion for a store that carries toast ? I tried the bread isle with no luck.

He has officially elevated the "village idiot" to the equal of the president, or confirmed that the president is a village idiot. Take your pick.
Posted by: ic | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:43 PM
ok, he did say bread ... he explained that it was so he could make pancakes for his his ... good dad, lousy press secretary ...
Posted by: Jeff | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:44 PM
This has to be the funniest attempt to defend the idiot Palin. The dimwit had three (3) issues to remember; and she had to write them down? And you believe she is ready to lead any country? She quit as Governor - with a state having the smallest population, she explots her children, she is a grifter who has her sights set on you nutjobs who get weak in the knees when she winks at you. She is getting rich off your racist and bigoted hatred for the black man in our WH. Can you just accept the fact that Obama is a smart and accomplished man? Unlike Palin?
When history is written, this period of our time will be filled with stories like Palin and the uninformed followers who are act more like band camp groupies than thoughtful citizens. Thoughtful citizens would see through the astroturf campaigns designed to take your money and give it to companies run by Gingrich, Armey, and the other tea baggers. You dimwits didn't even bother to see what the definition of tea bagger was before you stole it. And you believe Palin will save the day? Just when this country is starting to see the light of day, you backwoods, home schooled, make believe christians begin to tear it down. Jeebus would not be impressed with your avoidance of his teachings; but then again you already knew that, for you exploit God also. You wouldn't know religion if it bit you on the hand. He11 waits for you folks.....Dress lightly.

Does anyone else find it interesting that the President's press secretary felt it necessary to take a partisan political swipe at a Republican that not only isn't currently holding any office but isn't even running for anything?
Insecure, much?
Posted by: submandave | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:45 PM
It just pisses me off royally to know that some of my state taxes went to educate that buffoon at NC State University. At least I have the pleasure of knowing he isn't a North Carolina native. Thank god for Alabama!
Posted by: J Richardson | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 04:48 PM
This Administration doesn't seem to have any handle on decorum, NOBODY knows how to act presidential, from the president on down.
I don't think having to write her three key issues on her hand speaks too well of Sarah Palin on any level, but as someone else said, she's not an office holder or running for any office so for the president, through his press secretary to make fun of her seems incredibly petty.
Posted by: Anon | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 05:00 PM
Obama, Emmanual, Gibbs, all strike me as "men" who wear wife-beater shirts and stride around in smoke-laden rooms, flexing their puny arms and telling each other what big, strong men they are.
