Republican Pat Toomey now leads incumbent Senator Arlen Specter 49% to 40% in Pennsylvania’s race for the U.S. Senate. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Pennsylvania voters also finds Toomey with a 43% to 35% lead over Democratic challenger Joe Sestak.

1 down 59 to go. Well, maybe 61 if you count Maine...

shock value=0.
if a dem lost in ma, the writing is on the wall.
I actually think sestak is the better candidate, versus arlen.
the guy who was watching the ma elections closely though, had to spectre.
he defected for the political value of providing a filibuster proof senate.
so basically it took him less than 7 months to become mr. irrelevant.
worth noting also that he is going to be 80 in february. he is 6.5 years older than mccain.
my only curiousity about his final act, is whether he decides to run after losing the democratic nomination.
