Nothing wrong with him being his own man. But will he be our man? Time will tell.
Brown tells AP he'll sometimes side with Democrats
BOSTON (AP) -- Scott Brown says he has already told Senate Republican leaders they won't always be able to count on his vote.
The man who staged an upset in last week's Massachusetts Senate special election, in part by pledging to be the 41st GOP vote against President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday that he staked his claim in early conversations with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Whip Jon Kyl.
"I already told them, you know, `I got here with the help of a close group of friends and very little help from anyone down there, so there'll be issues when I'll be with you and there are issues when I won't be with you,'" Brown said Thursday during the half-hour interview. "So, I just need to look at each vote and then make a proper analysis and then decide."

And this makes Sarah's support of McCain "evil" how?

He was elected largely with the help of independants and some Dems. The days of blindly following party doctrine with no regard for the voters is over.
Just in case anyone forgot he is from Mass after all.
The public expects their reps to use good judgement and this guy appears to be a east coast Pub so don't be surprised when he votes for moderate or even sometimes social liberal issues.
As long as he remains a fiscal conservative, strong defense advocate and a pain in the ass for Reid, Pelosi and Xerxes he'll be fine!!
Let's give him a chance to prove himself. I for one think his election may have helped save the Republic from the Soros owned progressives intent on ruining this great country.

I'd just taking him voting (period) at this point. Will he vote straight GOP -- of course not. But I would have liked to get his take on the debt limit issue. So why is Kirk still voting in this seat?

Uhm... isn't this what the hardcore conservatives said all along? I know I never counted on Scott Brown to be anything but a possible no vote for health care. Anywhere but Massachusetts and Brown would be considered a RINO. I certainly consider him to be one.
That said, I considered him to be the better option for conservatives by far and that is why I supported him. I would NEVER count on him to be the savior of the Republican party. Not by a long shot.
All that BS that came out the day after about him running for the White House on the republican ticket? I consigned that to the crap bin along with the "McCain is the ONLY guy who can win against Obama" emails and crap I got in 2008.
Thank Scott Brown for this vote against health care and any other time he stands up for conservative ideals. But do NOT count on him as the new leader of this party. The guy to pin conservative hopes on for 2012 he is not.

He's a Republican from Massachusetts. He's practically required by law to say this. I wasn't expecting the guy to be Jim DeMint Jr.
He's better for our purposes than Martha Coakley, and that's all that matters to me. The RINOs that get my dander up are the ones from states that could realistically elect a conservative.

I have no problem with this. If he sticks to what he says are his core beliefs, we should be okay. Never forget that he represents the people of *Massachusetts* and that there's a difference between a RINO and a Republican moderate. I am willing to bet, however, that John McCain and Lindsay Graham have a new best friend.

Yeah, I knew going into this thing that supporting Brown was gonna mean getting annoyed with him from time to time on certain issues. I also felt that it was worth it in order to kill ObamaCare, which would've (and still could) introduced a truly alien and un-American form of Euro-Left socialism into our lives. The risk of socialized medicine was worth the possibility of electing a RINO to the senate.
Hey, if the GOP hadn't sucked in 2008, everyone would've had better options in 2009 and 2010. Instead, the Republicans pretty much crapped the bed two years ago, so we were sorta stuck in a position where we had to support Scott Brown.

Give me a thinking man over a "tell me what to do" man any day. Even if we disagree 80% of the time, it's still worth it.

I agree with Scott Brown that the RNC probably didn't do a darn thing for him to get him going and competitive but a lot of people around the country did rally for him. People on Twitter and Face Book posted for him several times a day. Just to use myself as an example, between Christmas and election day I posted over 300 tweets for him, sent emails to my friends about the money bombs and contributed financially. I live in Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. and there were dozens of people like me around the country doing the same thing. All in all, Scott Brown was probably better off without the RNC butting in. It enabled his close friends to find supporters for him all over the country using Twitter and Face Book. In the last days of the campaign they were raising a million dollars a day!!!
I don't expect Scott Brown to be super conservative but it will be a great improvement over the lock step liberal Coakley. Besides, his election has accomplished a great deal already; it sent a loud message to Washington and let "them" know that the American people, not just the Tea Party People, are serious about not liking their ultra left wing agenda
