It's hard to know quite what to make of Taluto's withdrawal.
He cites his delayed confirmation process. Here's the original blog post of widow Siobhan Esposito said to have caused the delay. I can't speak to the accuracy of her criticism.
It is also worth noting that the military rejected a plea agreement for her husband's alleged murderer and he was subsequently acquitted.
LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) — Maj. Gen. Joseph Taluto, New York's top soldier and President Barack Obama's nominee to lead the Army National Guard, is retiring and withdrawing from consideration for the appointment.
Congressional approval of the appointment was delayed when the widow of slain Army Capt. Phillip Esposito blamed Taluto for not doing more to prevent Esposito and another soldier from being killed in Iraq in 2005. Taluto said in a prepared statement Thursday that he was withdrawing because the prolonged confirmation process had become a distraction.

There is Awesome.
There is even Be-Awesome.
This isn't either one, but it's a pretty good way to get a chuckle while you're looking for the better stuff.

Ah yes. "Distraction". Obama's favorite excuse to deflect unpleasantness.
Wanna bet that Capt. Bullshit told him to withdraw and use that phrase?
