Must be nice to have that kind of money to burn because you've been in DC so long. It isn't only Democrats that have reason to fear. Ironic that Palin's stuck campaigning for McCain against a more conservative potential candidate. I wonder if McCain will allow her to speak her mind this time, or tell her how to behave on the stump? Michelle Malkin also has a post up warning of what she terms McCain regression syndrome.
Personally, I think it's time for McCain to retire and sit down. We need new blood and sound ideas. McCain is part and parcel of what got us where we are today in the first place. It's time for a change!
McCain has already run 2 positive ads on conservative radio stations, but the 3rd ad shows McCain's team has already done the opposition research.
"John McCain's running for re-election. Well, I'd hope so, why wouldn't he? It's not like our country is on the right track. It's a mess, Congress spending us into oblivion. We need McCain, standing up to the big shots, slashing spending," the announcer says.
"J.D. Hayworth? That's not what Arizona wants. He sounds conservative on the radio, but J.D. was one of the biggest spenders in Congress."

Yes, it'd be much better if the senile, cranky old goof retires. He sure has put Palin in a heck of a spot. If she doesn't campaign for him, she looks like an ingrate. If she does campaign for him (against a more conservative opponent) she loses her street "creds" as somebody who always does the right thing.
It wouldn't surprise me if McCain sides with the Dems on some of the crazy bills Obama, Reid and Pelosi still want to pass. He might be a war hero but I don't trust him.

Did Palin attempt to extract concessions from McCain for her support? If not, she missed an opportunity. She could have insisted that he back off amnesty or some other, fiscal issue important to her and conservatives. This concession could have been leaked. It might have helped both of them.
Palin needs to be careful. McCain is loathed by many who support her. If she confronts this fact within the realm of ideas and policy, she stands to gain. But if she simply ignores -- and seemingly rebuffs -- conservative concerns: not good.

McNasty was unable to work up defence of his VP choice after his managers attacked her. Yet this turd asked for her help in his losing run for reelection.
Gov Palin did the honorable thing and accepted his request.
Who is the better choice to go to DC?

It gets even better. I've heard the radio ad, it is being broadcast on the same station where JD has his talk show. The ad itself is creepy. I don't like the woman's voice, sounds like she is on heavy medication.
I can't understand the reasoning behind running this on JD's turf. Anyone who knows him or listens to him regularly is never going to be persuaded that he is less conservative or a bigger spender than John McCain.

Hayworth tonight said it was his final broadcast. Pretty strong evidence that he's throwing down the gauntlet. The ad ran on JD's station and even while he was broadcasting. I found it tacky and pretty much turned me against our senior senator for good. After all, our junior senator (Minority Whip Jon Kyl) will make a fine senior senator. I love Sarah, and I don't blame her for campaigning for McCain. She doesn't really have much choice considering he's the one who brought her onto the national stage and helped her get where she is today. McCain is polling higher than JD, but we'll see what happens when JD actually announces, which I'm 99.9% sure he will do.

The McCains will go on Oprah. Seriously Arizona, isn't it time you let him come home and get in touch with the electorate? Having a Rep die in office is not something to be proud of.
