If you think the GOP leadership is dumb and buys into everything the mainstream media tells them, this effort is coming from DSCC head Robert Menendez. But then, he never has been the sharpest stick. They don't comprehend what the Tea Party crowd is about, or how widespread are their views.
Showing that they’ve learned the lesson of Massachusetts, Menendez and his staff will distribute a memo Tuesday advising Democratic campaign managers to frame their opponents early — and to drive a wedge between moderate voters and tea-party-style conservatives.
“Given the pressure Republican candidates feel from the extreme right in their party, there is a critical — yet time-sensitive — opportunity for Democratic candidates,” the DSCC writes. “We have a finite window when Republicans candidates will feel susceptible to the extremists in their party. Given the urgent nature of this dynamic, we suggest an aggressive effort to get your opponents on the record.”
What a brilliant idea, let's make the Republicans turn their back on middle America, because we know what crazed radicals they are. lol These people are morons locked in gilded cages down in Washington, DC.
You go Bobby M, bring it on, my man. You apparently have no idea of the disaster for your party that will ensue from such a clumsy, mis-informed strategy. Everyone watching the Tea Party movement without bias knows that it is about fundamental concepts of freedom, fairness, economic sanity and government restraint. If you want to build your 2010 campaign around making war on that - then go for it. But you'd better fill up your 401k while you can!

O.M.G! Dumb or blind?

Mr Menendez (and most of the rest of the Dems) are seeing what they wish were true rather than seeing reality itself. Meanwhile, shhhhhh. Don't wake them up.

The Dems have been trying to manipulate GOP voters for years.
In the past they have succeeded, but not this year.
Voters aren't so easily fooled after so many empty promises.

These Democrats see the Republicans as a mirror of themselves.
I'd say that DSCC head Robert Menendez has framed a possible Republican strategy for dealing with Democrats perfectly.

Menedez is a fool...In New Jersey he is known as "Slowpoke Rodríguez" the lazy and slightly retarded cousin of Speedy Gonzales.

Actually, it's the democrats who are going to be given the ultimate "wedgie" They've had an entire year of one party rule and only managed to really screw things up. In so doing they've also managed to piss off members of all of their "identity politics" groups. We, in the Tea Party, are more unified then ever and chomping at the bit for the November elections. That's right dems, just keep reassuring yourselves that everything is just fine.

Menendez sent out the press release to the Sac Bee apparently.
Tea-party allies include Obama birth site skeptics by Steve Wiegand. Wieg managed to restrain himself from using the term "teabagger", but I bet it was a struggle.
Interesting that the Politico gives you the straight scoop, while the Bee gives you Democratic talking points disguised as a news report.
