It looks to me like they have Obama surrounded. First Jim Webb. Now Barney Frank. Obama is getting a wake up call. Presidents come and go, we have to live here. Obviously they've woken up to the toxic nature of what Obama is trying to force them to do. How they fashion a worthwhile compromise from here is hard to imagine, as Republicans have every right to dig in even deeper after the MA Senate race.
“I have two reactions to the election in Massachusetts. One, I am disappointed. Two, I feel strongly that the Democratic majority in Congress must respect the process and make no effort to bypass the electoral results. If Martha Coakley had won, I believe we could have worked out a reasonable compromise between the House and Senate health care bills. But since Scott Brown has won and the Republicans now have 41 votes in the Senate, that approach is no longer appropriate. I am hopeful that some Republican Senators will be willing to discuss a revised version of health care reform because I do not think that the country would be well-served by the health care status quo. But our respect for democratic procedures must rule out any effort to pass a health care bill as if the Massachusetts election had not happened. Going forward, I hope there will be a serious effort to change the Senate rule which means that 59 votes are not enough to pass major legislation, but those are the rules by which the health care bill was considered, and it would be wrong to change them in the middle of the process.”

Obama qualifications to reform health care:

Cannot stop smoking
Difficulty telling the truth.

There are GOP proposals on the table. Are the GOP ideas so far from the concept of increased government control of financing health care that they are impossible for the Democrats even to acknowledge? Do they really think they wouldn't get credit from the middle of the American electorate for moving forward on reform of health care financing?

Maybe Webb gets it, but over at MSDNC, Maddow and Kos took this election outcome as a sign that Democrats must now pass HCR even if it means "reconciliation"
Let's see ... Republican running as 41th vote against HCR in "bluest" state wins .. it's a sign the "blue" team must pass HCR by all means necessary. Talk about dense. To call these people stupid would be an insult to stupid people.
Guess maybe I will get my wish to have the Democrats complete their "lemmings" death march as they kamikaze their way into the history books.

Drudge headline...
will brown run for president?
my first instinct was that this guy has very little experience.
it appears though, that his resume is as complete as obama's. should he seek the nomination for 2012, he will have the same amount of experience as obama, when he decided to run.
any libs out there who want to tell me that brown is an unqualified noob to even fantasize about the presidency?
no argument here.

The thing that you have to realize is that this is it. This is the crux of the whole matter. This is the cornerstone of the democratic party. Health care is what they do. And Massachusetts is where they do it. There has been no Senator in the history of the United States who wanted health care more than Teddy. None. And he served for 47 years. And in all that time, RIGHT NOW is as close as they have ever come to realizing that dream. And when the bullet hits the bone, when it comes right down to it, Massachusetts can't deliver a vote of yes for universal health care. That means, that truth be told they must really not want it. They like to say that they do, but way down deep, where dollars make sense, they don't want it. This isn't a defeat for one democratic would be senator. This is nothing less than an existential crisis for the party it's self.
The democratic party has (for now) ceased to exist.

I said last week that after Brown's win, Dem Senators would demand Brown be seated before any health care votes were taken. Jim Webb has done just that. The script will continue to play out.
The narrative this week is clear: Obamacare is dead. Obama's agenda is dead. You don't have the votes for reconciliation. Obama can muscle through HCR as is in the Senate bill. The result will be a riot in his own party and scores of retirements and a Republican Congress next year. Obama's arrogance will assure that will happen.
At this point we need to concentrate on state efforts to nullify the bill as well as challenging it in the courts unless you believe Nancy Pelosi can't find 218 Dems to swallow the Senate bill. That may still be the case.

Look for the House to pass the Senate bill. The Dems have shot their wad. And I'd like to see some market research on Olbermann & Maddow. They may be popular with the immature college student who considers himself an intellectual, but the great middle of the spectrum is really turned off by that DNC blather. (And Obama has the gall to accuse Fox of being overly partisan.) When Dems have succeeded, they have won the independent middle. Olbermann, Maddow and that idiot red-headed, fat-faced guy who comes on before them are really alienating the average Joe. Of course, they despise the average Joe, but this is only part of their problem.

Idle thought:
Where are all those libtards who were sqeaming (squeal/scream) with delight at NY-23's "first Dem to win that seat in 150 years"?
Hey, libs! First Republican to win a Massachusetts senatorial seat in 50 years! How's it feel, hmmmm? BWAH-HA-HAHAHAHAHAHA...!!!

"Where are all those libtards.."
Sobering up, I would imagine. LOL.

I can picture Dandy Don singing,
"Turn out the lights, the parties over, they say that all good things must end..."
I said it last year when Xerxes was elected. The trolls always screw up when in power and get their ass handed to them in the next election. 1994 was nothing compared to the ass whopping coming in 2010 and 2012.
I only hope there are enough rocks for them to all crawl back under.
America is awake now and Xerxes will go down as the worst POTUS in our history!!
But he's just sooo smart!!!!

Scott Philip Brown......MMMMMM.....MMMMMMM......MMMMMMM!!!

Actually, in 2012, Scott Brown will have considerably more relevant experience to be POTUS than O had when he ran. But I don't see Brown as someone who is setting up a presidential exploration committee, as O did the millisecond after he was elected to the Senate.
