Rep. Parker Griffith to switch parties? On a large number of issues, the Democrats led and he didn't follow. By now, he likely realized he wasn't going to be able to defend being a Democrat in his District come next year.

Interesting. The Dems are also seeing a number of retirements, and two Florida Republicans withdrew their endorsements of Crist today. You don't need no freakin' Bill Ayers to know which way the wind blows. ha! The forecast for Obamacare, Obama and the socialist Democrats is getting colder and all wet.

He has bucked the Democratic leadership on nearly all of its major domestic initiatives, including the stimulus package, health care legislation, the cap-and trade energy bill and financial regulatory reform.

The switch represents a coup for the House Republican leadership, which had been courting Griffith since he publicly criticized the Democratic leadership in the wake of raucous town halls during the summer.

Griffith, who captured the seat in a close 2008 open seat contest, will become the first Republican to hold the historically Democratic, Huntsville-based district. A radiation oncologist who founded a cancer treatment center, Griffith plans to blast the Democratic health care bill as a prime reason for his decision to switch parties—and is expected to cite his medical background as his authority on the subject.

While the timing of his announcement was unexpected, Griffith’s party switch will not come as a surprise to those familiar with his voting record, which is one of the most conservative among Democrats.

He has been voting against Pelosi pretty steady.

The smart thing is to let it pass for a while to not discourage others who may also be thinking of jumping ship.

Sounds like he ran as a DINO to get there and if so the,YEA.If thats what it takes then so be it but a lot of vetting is gonna have to happen to trust many other DINO's out there.

So the Dino will become a RINO. Sigh.... Sarah should sometimes stop and think before she speaks. I do not trust these walk-overs. Soon the new conservative movement will be infested with these wonderful liberals in conservatives clothes. Why are we always so naive. Now the guy is a hero? Good that he saw the light, but that is it. Sarah should work sparingly with her "endorsements". She is waaayyy to cosy with Democrats. Does she want to represent conservatives? She seems more interested in impressing the Hillary-bunch, who will throw her under the bus in a heart-beat the moment she takes on Hillary.
