Yemenis Raid Al Qaeda Hideout Linked To Airliner Attack

Yemeni forces raided an al-Qaida hideout and set off a gunbattle Wednesday as the government vowed to eliminate the group that claimed it was behind the Christmas bombing attempt on a U.S. airliner.

The fighting took place in an al-Qaida stronghold in western Yemen, haven for a group that attacked the U.S. Embassy here in 2008, killing 10 Yemeni guards and four civilians. A government statement said at least one suspected militant was arrested during the clashes.

Yes, but this was after the Obama administration openly stated this was the plan in order to gain a day's worth of positive public opinion instead of just keeping their mouths closed.

Besides, like I said before, the bad guys were packing the minute they found out the bomber blew it. Unfortunately for us somebody in the government read the kid his rights and got him a lawyer before a good interrogation could take place. Who knows how good the intel the raid is operating off of is considering the limited opportunity to talk with the suspect.

My guess is he's going to roll over even without being tortured because he's been SO OBVIOUS that his own father turned him in to the authorities, this whole thing strikes me much more as a typical liberal/marxist/dumbass/rich kid playing revolutionary than a real plot by Al Quada. It is hard for me to believe that the same group that spent months and months training their guys to fly planes would be unable to train one of their operatives how to ignite his own bomb.

Bin Laden's Al Quada was an international, militarily trained well funded, well armed terrorist organization that was able to carry out numerous successful terrorist attacks in several different countries.

If you really think that we have so beaten down Al Quada that this, yes, dumb rich kid revolutionary wannabe who was so obvious in his radicalism that his own father turned him in to intelligence agencies...and so bad a terrorist that he could not set off his own bomb, then fine, declare victory.

Whatever lame branch of Al Quada this doofus got involved with, I don't think it was what we think of as Al Quada proper.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe the very best they can do these days is recruit stupid rich kids who can't set off their own bombs even though they are able to easily get through all the layers of security after having been put on a watch list.

No, he's a terrorist and not a spoiled rich kid. If that were the case you could apply that description to Bin Laden, Atta and a number of others. You need to separate the class and race from the religious obsession. Rich kids, poor kids, women, rich men, poor men, it is not about the money or class it is about the mind.

He's a terrorist, yes, I'm not saying he needs to get probation and counseling, I'm only saying that it looks to me like is not a terrorist on the same order as Bin Laden or Atta...these kinds of organizations do attract a lot of spoiled rich kids [I'm sure if Ayers had been born in the 1990s he would identify with Islamic radicals..its a certain type of personality]...but the spoiled rich kids who think what they're doing is romatic are NOT in the same class as the people like Bin Laden, the real movers and organizers. This guy was a dupe.
