From a very solid NY Times round up of blogs reacting to Copenhagen. Kerry didn't attend Notre Dame. Their four horsemen saddled up 77 years ago in 1922. I doubt people take away from this the precise reference Kerry intended. Or was he suggesting they'd destroy the political opposition? Most are the political opposition.
There are four far more notorious horsemen somewhat regularly discussed in the culture today. And they don't play ball very well. I don't believe Copenhagen scored much for climate change supporters and his usage and choice of metaphor doesn't score much IQ-wise for Kerry, either.
... said Senator John Kerry, who co-authored his chamber’s climate bill. “It’s a powerful signal to see President Obama, Premier Wen, Prime Minister Singh, and President Zuma agree on a meeting of the minds. These are the four horsemen of a climate change solution.”
One might just as easily believe he's saying they'll kill it. And that may even be the more accurate interpretation. No wonder he lost, Kerry makes Bush look like a a genius.

I heard Sen. Kerry say on the Senate floor yesterday (Friday) that the health bill will "empower the states". I didn't know it was the business of the US Government to empower the states.
He had a couple other mind-boggling, jaw-dropping, "what country did he take an off-ramp to" statements on the Senate floor.
So, no, Dan, I can't help you with what he was thinking at all this week. Sorry.

Apocalypse comes to mind.

John Kerry is thinking that the Apocalypse is a Good Thing. If you're Christian, you may consider what follows a Good Thing, but the Apocalypse itself, not so much.

Was Kewrry making a racist statement. Is Obama famine? The four horsemen are not to be emulated as far as I can tell.
