First the Miami Herald and now the Washington Times both in one day. Don't be surprised if we start seeing more of this ahead. We're coming up on the end of the calendar year and it's time for companies to reassess what they have to do to remain viable in 2010. I bumped the idea for their news coverage up to the top.
The news operation, according to the release, will focus on what it considers core strengths—“exclusive reporting and in-depth national political coverage, enterprise and investigative reporting, geo-strategic and national security news, and cultural coverage based on traditional values.”
Jonathan Slevin, acting publisher and president of the Washington Times, outlined a new plan for the beleaguered newspaper and spoke of "significant staff reductions" at a meeting this afternoon.
Staff are receiving notices at the meeting, but it's unclear who will be laid off at this time. However, management is putting the number at around 40 percent, according to sources. There are 370 staffers total.
A Times release went out after the meeting began that outlines some of the major changes taking place in the first quarter of 2010.

Imagine if Congress felt the same way!

Cong. "Nostrils" Waxman wants to make the daily journals who are "victims of a failed business plan" receive tax subsidies to continue parlaying the "failed political agenda" of the ultra-left socialist nose-brigade from CA like Barbara Lee, Babs Boxer, and "The Nose Knows" Waxboy hisself.
How about that Wall Street Journal, actually increasing its circulation and passing USA Today as #1 in the USA! Of course you didn't read about it in the MSM, which keeps real news to a minimum, especially if it doesn't fit that Global Boilover agenda.
Babs Boxer, of course, wants to prosecute the whistleblower on the CRU e-mails for releasing an FOIA petition eight years old, and NASA is still dragging its feet. While sending up Shuttles that are murderously dangerous, NASA lies to us about climate change.

Clearly, The Washington Time, like many other papers, has failed miserably because it is simply too liberal.

WashTimes is the paper owned by the Moonies, isn't it? Not especially liberal, IIRC.
