As an American citizen, I will be damned before I sit idly by and watch any portion of our elected legislative branches yield Congress's power and the rights of American citizens in domestic affairs to unelected bureaucrats, the names and backgrounds of whom we may never truly know, let alone vote for, or against directly. Not without reasonable oversight. And what these rule changes do is take away any reasonable oversight by the deliberative branches of government.
Ultimately, I believe this effectively bestows sole authority for important aspects of domestic policy unto the Executive Branch. Talk about an imperial presidency? Not only is it unconstitutional, it is effectively an ugly first step toward dictatorship.

I was wondering. Could the House, if controlled by a majority of Pro-Americans come 2011, could they just bleed ObamaCare to death by cutting off funding? No money, no departments, councils, bureaus, etc. right?
Also how plausible is it for governors and state legislatures to huddle up with state police and local law enforcement to provide protection to state citizens that rebel against the Feds through with holding of taxes, etc.?
Bleed the beast. There isn't enough Feds to go after everybody and the states can allow citizens to "defend" themselves from the Feds if police can't get there in time.
And any LEO who sides with the feds should be fired from his position. It's time we played hardball with these scumbags. It's time we draw a line in the sand. Separate the wheat from the chaff.
My knowledge of how government works is limited so was wondering if you or any other gurus could tell me how feasible this is.

USMC - there is no bill, yet - no law has been passed. That's all that matters today. We should focus on nothing else but making sure it doesn't happen. Next steps only come after that. We need to unite and focus. Period.

I will stand with you Dan and have worked my butt off thus far to stop this travesty and will be working very hard to send Connelly in VA-11 home in 2010 but WE need to stand ready with an ARMY of lawyers to FIGHT this in the courts until WE have the Congress WE DESERVE in place. I remember the left tying up the late term birth abortion bill in the courts for years until the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it so that is what I am thinking of with regards to tying it up. I certainly would like to see a clearing house of attorneys with paypal links to keep them fighting to STOP this HORROR!

The guys who were always called the "fringe" are starting to look more and more right about this kind of stuff.
So what we must now consider is if they were right might they also be right about the solutions to this destruction of the Constitution.
We must start to publically start to organize for a forceable removal of the Democrat and Radical Left power structure. We need to start getting pettitions on the ballot or in the hands of our Governors that push for seccesion. This must be done publically. In Texas the last polling done had something like 49% of the people wanting to form their own country. What would the result now? We need to show that if they pass this they are flirting with the country coming apart.
Lets take this thing to the UN. I'm sure we could find plenty of countries that would be happy to see us split up. Turn the UN against them and then let the LIBS choke on it.

If Reid is saying that all it takes is a majority vote to have the 3/5 vote be "necessary".
Then, a simple majority vote in the future could simply state the 3/5 vote is no longer "necessary".

This is quite bizarre if it is really correct.
My totally uneducated guess is that whether or not it could be enforced depends on the ruling of the majority leader.
Whoever is the chair of the deliberations after 2010 could simply rely on the Senate rules and noone is really able to do anything about that.
Though if the procedural statement is to be taken as a law, then certainly it's in the purview of the Supreme Court.
