It seems that before he went off to collect his peace prize, Obama had already ramped up a covert war within Yemen. It isn't that I disagree with him on that, it's the awkward inconsistency between his rhetoric and his actions that raise concerns.
This talking out of both sides of his mouth stuff is going to leave him with no base of support at all. Or worse, he doesn't actually have any consistent policy for America in important ways - only a cobbled together hash of things it takes to appease this or that group at any given time. Ultimately, that could easily prove to be disastrous for us all.
American and Yemeni officials said that a pivotal point in the relationship was reached in late summer after separate secret visits to Yemen by Gen. David H. Petraeus, the American regional commander, and John O. Brennan, President Obama’s counterterrorism adviser.
WASHINGTON — In the midst of two unfinished major wars, the United States has quietly opened a third, largely covert front against Al Qaeda in Yemen.
A year ago, the Central Intelligence Agency sent several of its top field operatives with counterterrorism experience to the country, according a former top agency official. At the same time, some of the most secretive Special Operations commandos have begun training Yemeni security forces in counterterrorism tactics, senior military officers said.

notice the article says "A year ago, the Central Intelligence Agency sent several of its top field operatives with counterterrorism experience to the country" ... gee who was President a year ago ... so who actually started this initiative ...
see http://strata-sphere.com/blog/index.php/archives/12007
given the planning that would have proceeded those CIA guys going in it is clear that this was Bush initiative ... for once if they claim "Bush Did It" they'd be right ...

The young idiots who voted for a man with very little poltiical experience, no business experience, no military experience and a life-long history of cavorting with communists, socialists, anarchists and other assorted anti-American radicals - we have those idiots to thank for having in the White House.

HI RSSG--12/28/09--10:37. I also think that Comrade Obama (PBUH) is a "democratic" / liberal / socialist / statist / marxist / communist clown who is doing a lot of damage to our country and is actively trying to set up the new United Socialist States of America. I base this on his "track record".

However, we should engage him on his failed policies, actions, and associates. Calling him NAMES doesn't help--and can be interpreted as dumb or racist.

Jeff, seriously, what is it about "John O. Brennan, President Obama’s counterterrorism adviser" that's hard to figure out?

I agree let's drop the unnecessary aspersions. They're meaningless and only convey hate, or worse.

Hey Rocketman - sorry but I do believe engaging in name calling, that is ridicule, is beneficial. I don't believe in "fighting gentlemanly" (see Lee Atwater, GOP party man in the '80s). "Racist"? Ha, ha....first of all, the word today is meaningless, secondly your president is a racist (see the Cambridge incident and in fact, see his entire life, duh).
Sure, I disagree with 99% of what comes out of the mouth of our Marxist-Mooslim in Chief. Why though? Because he like everyone, is a product of their upbringing, Pharoah's father was a moooslim and a communist. His step-father was a moooslim. His mentor during teen-aged years was a communist. His preacher was(is) a racist communist. His friend Ayers is a communist/anarchist.
Do you see a pattern or do you wanna fight him in a "gentlemanly manner"?

I think POTUS is in a fix as leader of the free world.
On one hand, he had all these left-wing preconceptions on January 19. On January 21 he got a cold hard slam of reality. Hence this father's change in policy and rhetoric on foriegn policy.
At least POTUS is not playing partisan politics with national security or sticking to the left instead of a centrist "all of the above" role. Now if only he'd go to the center domestically...

Jeff, Obama could have stopped the whole thing if he had wanted to. Obviously, he didn't.

face it,BO is a product of the non productive group of our country. He had an easy pass through life like apparently all those juvenile idiots.the only skill he possessed was talk.See where that has gotten us.Oh! there was one additional skill he learned at the knee of Wright, that is the skill to lie insouciantly.

Best of all....stop all Mooooslim immigration for a period of at least a few years. Let the ragheads over there police themselves. Tell them we're not gonna accept their people anymore until they get a handle on radicalism in Islam.
Of course they never will get a handle on it, for jihad is part of Islam - always has been, alwasy will be.
