Maybe it's just me, but I suspect if a white Republican Prez went on about black folks, he'd be accused of racism by someone for his casual speech. Blacks, black people, or community, fine. But folks? Some, maybe even Danny Glover, would likely suggest he was talking down to black people. That, or trying to sound like one of them, which neither white Republicans, nor Obama is. Am I wrong? Could be.
"The only thing I cannot do is, by law I can't pass laws that say I'm just helping black folks," Obama said.

Strange, it was all we, we, we, instead of I, I, I.
oth I can't stand the use of "folks."

I voted for him because he was best option on the table at the time. Had the Republican party won our lives may or may not have been directly affected as well. Obama is, above all, a politician. His campaign of hope was a politician's campaign to get votes based on what the people wanted to hear. As a Black woman the biggest change I hoped for was a change in the perception of African Americans in this country, but a huge shift in my day-to-day? Not a chance. I am still responsible for my choices and my future, not Obama, Bush, nor the next politician in line. A democratic system, faulty as ours may be, makes it impossible for a president to become a dictator and with the stroke of a pen make huge sweeping decisions. Change is slow, and not possible with one man in 10 months. He hasn't come through with all campaign promises, but hopefully he will fulfill more of them in the coming 38 months. He has a long way to go.

If Obama fulfills his promises, then America is dead. God forbid! Obama is the most viciously America-hating president we've ever had. He's worse than Jimmy Carter. Obama's idea of helping people in the community is to expand the plantation so that blacks will NEVER get off of it. If that made him the best option on the table, well, then, some people have no sense of history. He cares about no one but himself, his own power, his ideology. The big change that will come from Obama's presidency is that now America sees how many blacks in political power hate America; how many Joe Six Pack blacks want to live off the taxpayer's dime; how many black people don't care about what is good for America but instead only care about the color of skin of the person elected to office; how many black people don't care about political philosophy as long as the person running for office is willing to pander to their sense of racial grievance; how many blacks are racist.
For this Christmas, I want black people to wake up and stop thinking with the color of their skin. Look around and see how you are being herded back on to the plantation which some of you have never left. Obama's policies, which have created high unemployment, have done more to ensure you remain wards of the state, without the will or ability to chart your own course. He wants power for the Democrats; you and your continued enslavement is the Democrat road to power. It is not for nothing that the Democrats were the party of slavery and Jim Crow.
My people, time to rise up and throw off the shackles. Time to stand as men and heed Martin Luther King who wanted us to regard to content of the man's character instead of the color of his skin. Time to look at the good America has done, and not just at the bad. Time to look at the changes America has made, move on and make changes in our lives. Time to demand our children stop pulling each other down and study; studying is not the province of whites only. Time to turn our backs on Barack Obama. He doesn't know America; he doesn't value her; he wants to ruin her; and because he does, he will also ruin us.

The man promises everything to everybody, and gets away with it because the MSM doesn't care about holding him to his promises, and the other guys (FOX News, centrist and rightist bloggers) are just dismissed (overtly or implicitly) by Obama and the MSM as racists. The health care plan is nothing but a massive transfer of wealth to 'his people.' Remember how he promised that anyone making less than $250K/yr would get a tax break? Let's see how that works out. There will be breadlines before he is done. The economic mess can be blamed on lax regulation by the Bush Administration, but the ongoing malaise is Obama's fault. We are a capitalist economy, and he is focusing on government spending that helps his cronies, from ACORN to the liberal Democrats who carry his water in Congress. More than anything, this is a failure of American journalism. Can you believe the dishonest, rah-rah crap MSNBC puts out every night? And the response to every issue is always 'blame it on Bush' no matter what. When Obama is voted out with the country in tatters, he and the liberal media will be making excuses about how bad a hand he was dealt by the Bush administration.
