First, he compares it to Social Security. That's said to be trillions of dollars in debt. Then he goes on to call the health care bill the largest deficit-reduction plan in over a decade. Does any honest, reasonably informed person actually believe that? It's only that if you view it as the rationalization to tax the nation out of a large portion of its private wealth.
I really can't take it. We have a WH that is perfectly willing to go out and boldly lie repeatedly to the American people. And don't give me that Bush WMD crap. Even if I conceded he lied, it wouldn't be close to the scale of the misguided statements this guy is willing to perpetrate. And the press doesn't really even challenge him on it. This is getting surreal. He either deserves to be called a liar straight out, or a clueless dilettante who really doesn't understand how dangerous he is.
"This will be the most important piece of social legislation since the Social Security Act passed in the 1930's and the most important reform of our health care system since Medicare passed in the 1960's," said Obama, before leaving for his Christmas vacation in Hawaii, which he delayed until Senate passed the health care bill.
The president also hailed the legislation as the "largest deficit-reduction plan in over a decade," and added that he looks forward to working with both chambers of Congress "over the coming weeks" to bring a final bill to his desk.

Orwellian!

Well, it's all very simple. Obama subscribes to "Costanza's Maxim":
"It's not a lie...if you believe it."

We are now a nation of dependents. Congratulations.
Our lives are now centrally planned, controlled by the political class in DC. Micro-management, busy-bodies in government will manage every little detail in our lives.
The only freedom left to Americans is to decide what clothes to purchase. Our jobs, our healthcare, which automobile will be allowed to be manufactured and thus bought, which big screen tv's will be allowed to be sold - all this is being controlled by Wash DC.
Congratulations.

He doesn't care, he doesn't care, he doesn't care....repeat this mantra a zillion times every day for the next three years. This pospotus will burn his children at the stake if he believes it will help his megalomaniac image. He doesn't care, he doesn't care, he doesn't care...

2010 will be the end of Obama ... his 2010 deficit alone will exceed the sum total of all Bush deficits from 2000-2008 (he gets a pass on 2009 as some thing were put into motion by Bush even though Obama exacerbated thing quiet a bit)
It doesn't matter what he says or what the MSM reports, the real world will intrude as it has this year and Obama keep being shown to be out of touch again and again ...
We elected a Frank Sinatra and now find ourselves with the Mili Vanilli of politics ...

I've finally learned that you have to start your analysis of any bedrock liberal policy with any understanding that they are all hypocrites and change their set of values depending on which policy they support..hence 'the ends cannot justify the means' in the war on terror, but it can absolutely justify the means in hcr or affirmative action or any other pet project.
Liberals are inherently dishonest, with themselves most of all, and they all believe that a utopian society can be created that fits their idea of utopia if only they are given the power to make it happen.
This is why the Democrats never care about the cost, the cost irrelevant, its the buzz they get from "doing good" and "helping the _________ minority du jour". It's also why they fail to learn the lessons of history in terms of central planning and economics, because it directly contradicts their belief that they and only they can create the utopia of their dreams.
While it is true that conservatives have also employed a degree of magical thinking especially in the area of faith and morality and the 'ends justifies the means' mentality, overall their track record is much more rooted in reality and history.
Bush was an anomally, he cost conservatives dearly and should be an ongoing reminder of what happens when you abandon your principles to get what you want or what you think is right.
Liberals have no such principles to even abandon because everything is viewed through their subjective prism of self created moral relativism, there is no consistency to any libearl position and never will be.

The press may not take on Obama;s lies but the CBO did earlier today. The numbers the Dems are citing are highly manipulated. This is a huge budget buster even before considering the enormous new unfunded federal mandates being dumped on the states. The Governator is already begging out.

We live in opposite world now.
I always know that reality and the truth are the exact opposite of what Obama says.
