Obama Changes Copenhagen Plans, Invites Huge Failure, Again

How many times have we seen this strategy explode in Obama's face only one year into his term? He did the very same thing with the Olympics to disastrous effect.

By switching his visit from Dec. 9 to Dec. 18, Obama appears to be betting that his presence can - as he has expressed hope for several times in the past - push the negotiations "over the top" toward an agreement.

Obama continues to think this is all about him, somehow. Will he never learn? And he continues to believe that, all things considered, the American people are going to be fine with more of our tax dollars flowing overseas to bring this charade about? Obama has set himself on course for the most tragically failed presidency in recent history with his decisions on both Afghanistan and now Copenhagen just this week.

This week, the President discussed the status of the negotiations with Prime Minister Rudd, Chancellor Merkel, President Sarkozy, and Prime Minister Brown and concluded that there appears to be an emerging consensus that a core element of the Copenhagen accord should be to mobilize $10 billion a year by 2012 to support adaptation and mitigation in developing countries, particularly the most vulnerable and least developed countries that could be destabilized by the impacts of climate change.

While realizing they can change, as things stand, Obama is going to be looking like an incompetent neophyte on a global scale and a failed war potus by 2012. As the economy will be the main predicate upon which his term is judged and all reasonable analysts predict on going serious trouble for what amounts to years, there is not going to be a single great accomplishment to which he will be able to point as grounds for his re-election.

Yes, the political earth can shift in the span of three years. However, if it doesn't, any thoughts of re-election he may currently harbor are all but doomed.

To get a feel for the real agenda, one only need look at the supplicants lining up with their begging bowls as word has spread that the government will be giving out free money.

Obama has never thought through the consequences of any position he has ever taken. Even after spending months deciding what to do in Afghanistan he still didn't understand that you can't commit troops without committing to victory. He didn't understand that closing Gitmo would be hard because there was no where else to put the terrorists. He didn't understand that bringing KSM to America for trial in civilian courts would be a non-starter given that we are at war and rules of evidence gathering do not apply. Holder seemed to have never considered such things as whether we would have to read combatants their rights, or whether our allies would not want their intelligence efforts revealed in open court --- just to name a couple of obvious consequences of his policies that only a fool would overlook.

Obama is simply intellectually incapable of understanding even the simplest of things.

Why is no one saying what is so manifestly obvious? He is a dullard.

I was a bit to young to experience the full "enjoyment" of the Carter years, but Obama provides a pretty good reprise of that. Thankfully, we only had to deal with one term the first time around. Will we be that lucky again? Depends more on the GOP candidate in 2012 -- we don't need another RINO, nor another Bob Dole. A strong third party candidate that leans right will practically guarantee a full 8 years of the bizarre alternate universe known as Democratic party ideology. Clinton was able to win two terms without ever carrying more than 49% of the popular vote; in one election, only 43%. I think Obama's delay is more about the effects of the ClimateGate expose and the general funk the conference will be in. This still hasn't hit the network news and no one knows what new revelations will be coming out. In his typical dithering way, he will test the wind and wait until the last minute to go or cancel if the conference turns in to a disaster.

He initially wasn't going to attend and was probably persuaded to in order to bolster the sagging spirits of the attendees. Now he knows the momentum is going against the warmists and he wants to buy time. he is zigging instead of zagging. He has no moral compass. He wants the expose to die down, but it won't.

If there's one thing that I simply can't stand about the whole Obama meme, it's that he's supposed to be so freaking smart. He simply never seems to say anything of substance, he never seems to wrap his mind around any issue.

If he's so smart, then why haven't they released his grades from college? If he's so smart, then why doesn't he know what going on inside of the various health care bills?
