or it could be the SCOTUS decision reaffirming the individual right to carry guns.

I'd say its because of the supreme court decision, where the states now don't have to worry about getting taken to court or sued by the gun control freaks.

That does remind me to get my Utah carry permit--good in 30 states. A class here in WA state will give that to me for $149. Not a bad deal.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Could be that people are starting to wake up and realize that the police and the government are unable or unwilling to protect them. Well that and that people are tired of hearing news stories of multiple repeat felons being let free to keep on plying their trades.

I'm glad the Founding Fathers weren't Journalism School lackies. If it wasn't for lap-dogging the Georgetown tea-bagging and crumpets crowd and shilling for the liberal left Mr.Fineman would probably starve to death for not being any sort of contributor to society. I'm sure Mr Fineman has ABSOLUTELY no objection to the people of Isreal keeping and bearing their M-16s ( graciously paid for by us ignorant American people that must be disarmed). Mr Fineman is your usual typical hypocrite. A trait that is in the DNA of the most of our Media Overlords that are seeking to save us from our ownselves.Mr. Fineman stated a reoccuring lie that only 43% of the American people own guns.
