With a h/t to Sissy Willis for one of these items. First, today via the AP. Can we significantly help solve our energy problems with natural gas?
An unlikely source of energy has emerged to meet international demands that the United States do more to fight global warming: It's cleaner than coal, cheaper than oil and a 90-year supply is under our feet.
It's natural gas, the same fossil fuel that was in such short supply a decade ago that it was deemed unreliable. It's now being uncovered at such a rapid pace that its price is near a seven-year low. Long used to heat half the nation's homes, it's becoming the fuel of choice when building new power plants. Someday, it may win wider acceptance as a replacement for gasoline in our cars and trucks.
If so, via American Thinker, why are Soros and friends already spending money to see that we don't?
Cheap Natural Gas and Its Enemies
Now how coincidental is it that the Sandler-funded Pro Publica focuses on "fracking" as their inaugural topic? The Sandlers have no apparent experience in or knowledge of the energy industry. Why not have Pro Publica focus on other investigative topics -- say, the savings and loan crisis and the malefactors of great wealth who made out like the proverbial bandits? We know the answer to that question, but maybe we have an inkling of why Pro Publica has been pushing the "fracking" story, and why Democrats in Congress are going along with the media/political campaign.
George Soros is a pal and ally of the Sandlers. He also owns major stakes in energy companies that don't rely on shale gas for their revenue. These companies would be harmed and become less profitable if shale gas were released onto the market in the vast quantities industry experts believe are available through fracking.

"China also took note of the corruption endemic in Europe’s [cap-and-trade] system"
It has long been considered that the US was the target of this massive redistribution of wealth, but for a moment, consider the case that over time the biggest "target" of this scheme turned out to be China ... and China wanted no part of it.
The irony of communist China being against "wealth redistribution" is just so far out there.

Warren Buffett, Obama's old friend, has been selling ConocoPhillips and buying EXXON. Buffett owns MidAmerican Energy, a big gas pipeline outfit.
EXXON has committed to big expansion plans in Alaska, including drilling in Pt. Thompson, an area that they have sat on for 35 years. Pt Thompson is adjacent to Prudhoe Bay and widely known to have huge quantities of gas but little oil.
Last year, EXXON announced they would 'partner' with TransCanada Gas, the Canadian company that the Palin Admin selected to build the Alaska Gas Line from the North Slope to the Midwest US. The only holdup is that EXXON wants concessions from Alaska in the form of fixed, low taxes for a long period.
Alaskan gas is clean and abundant and easy to process; no water or fracting needed, no big processing plants. Just build the admittedly expensive pipeline and open the valve.
Look for EXXON, Buffett, the Canadian Govt and the Obama Admin to all be involved. Once announced, there won't be any need for expensive shale gas.

The thing about methane is, it can be made into gasoline and other liquid fuels through a variation of the Fischer-Tropsch process. F-T Process is how Germany launched a mechanized war. Making gasoline out of coal. Japan used F-T Process to make liquid fuels out of Chinese coal. We have 350 billion short tons of coal within the US that we know about. Probably twice that much waiting to be found whenever we have reason to look for it. Then there is the oil shale of the Green River Formation in Wyoming and Colorado. 3 to 100 Saudi Arabia equivalents.
The only reason to build nuclear plants and the pixie dust alternatives is to free up coal for making liquid fuels
It was never necessary to send trillions of dollars to the Muslim Kings.
It was never necessary to give up the big cars with the 8 cylinder engines.
It was never necessary to elect idiots who stand in the way of developing American resources.
