AOL's Opinion Editor, John Merline, was nice enough to email an apology and correction of an item mis-identifying me as an Obama supporting liberal blogger. It's carried in an update at bottom.
We shared a few positive email exchanges and plan to talk soon regarding the possibility of my writing some op-ed content for him at some point. Whatever comes of that, having been out here almost six-years and witnessed too much of the derision often cast at bloggers by news professionals over the years, it was most welcome and much appreciated. Blogging has come a long way in a short period of time.
As I conveyed to John in email, my belief has always been that, whatever the future of media may be, it involves more mutual respect and cooperation between news and blogging outlets than in the past. Given a long history in print media, Merline deserves credit for his approach at AOL.

Well said, both by John Merline and yourself.

Don't go all Hopey McChange on us. The future of media beyond bleak. We ARE entering an age so dark. That no one knows, can predict, what the landscape will resemble.
Klieg lights recommended.
