The Seattle times does an excellent job of re-tracing four days in May which quite likely represent the beginning of Maurice Clemmon's final meltdown that would leave four police officers and Clemmons himself dead in the end. They fault a justice system too programmatic and blind to the individual and individual crimes, at best. There were several good reasons why Clemmons shouldn't have been free the night he apparently gunned down four cops who didn't even know he was there before the first shots rang out. You should read it all.
Michelle Malkin is wrapping up her comprehensive coverage now that Clemmons is dead. See here and also here. And also be sure to read the link above. It's an unfortunate and intimate look into our justice system as it stands today.
Penner, the deputy prosecuting attorney, said Clemmons was turned away by two bail-bond agencies, based on his history of failing to appear in court. But then Clemmons found a taker: Jail Sucks Bail Bonds, based in Chehalis.
His conduct became so erratic — punching a sheriff's deputy, forcing relatives to strip naked, according to police reports — that authorities eventually charged him with eight felonies, including one count of child rape.
Still, at the end of those four days, Clemmons wound up on the loose — a delusional man with a propensity for violence, who had managed to escape the grip of authorities.
What happened in those four days — and in the months that followed — reflects a system governed by formula and misguided incentives.
That legal system, both in Arkansas and Washington, failed to account for the entirety of Clemmons' violence and his disdain for the law. Individual crimes, viewed in isolation, trumped a long and disturbing pattern of warning signs.

Our inability or unwillingness to read signs and take appropriate action seems to be pervasive. Ft. Hood, now this. What next?

Nothing alters the fact that if Huckabee hadn't indulged his own vainglorious and superficial 'Christianity' Clemmons would never have been free to commit another crime.
The system worked in Arkansas; it did it's job; it put an animal away. Mike Huckabee opened the cage.

It is my understanding that Mike Huckabee reduced his sentence and that the parole board released him.

I'll kill all you bitches,"
You would think that that would have sounded an alarm, but in today's PC world, our society is deaf to alarms.
Lindquist said he thought both judges set bail too low.
"As prosecutors, we face an uphill battle walking into court," he said. "We have to show that the defendant is a danger to the community and a flight risk."
Really? After punching cops, smashing windows, running from the law, and molesting a 12 year old, you found that to be so difficult?

The guy never even went before a judge when he was set free on bail in Washington. Talk about a misguided system. My God, there were multiple chances to stop this guy in Arkansas and Washington. Bottom line is that the laws in all the states are rigged to coddle the criminal, and you can thank liberals for the laws, but Mike Huckabee for falling for them.

I thought Huckabuck's statement and remarks on O'Reilly were disingenuous and aimed at getting him off the hook. Now. HE WAS good. but i'm not falling for it. Mike has the reputation of knowing what is best for the people he governs. Didn't he quit smoking and with the stroke of a pen decide that his citizenry were going to do that for themselves too? Also, he lost weight and determined that he was going to tell Arkansans how to eat. I know arkansas. THAT aint' gonna work.

"Our inability or unwillingness to read signs ..." Was he recruited by AQ or Hamas during one of his jail visits? Their recruiting efforts there are massive and comprehensive, especially among American Blacks.
There were plenty of signs at Fort Hood, including long before. That was unwillingness to act, to prevent. The same situation exists at other Army posts.
When is Mohammedanism going to be "politically incorrect?" It is, you know.
Not saying Clemmons was Mohammedan. But asking, was he? It's a highly relevant question, especially given the area, parallel operations in other parts of the country, especially since 20JAN09, and the known terrorist profile of the area. Friends and relatives helping? His "hallucinations" Malkin reports are SOP African tribal genocide, nothing hallucinogenic about it, it's real.
Seattle area has one of the heaviest AQ/Hamas/IRGC concentration and activity levels in the country. Facilitated by political climate. The Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel and more than one bus route transiting it recently have been tested with dummy bombs treated cavalierly by both passengers and transit employees.
There are reports that Clemmons used two guns simultaneously. If true -- likely is, given the speed with which he worked and his success rate -- he was proficient and had trained for the op. Same as the cat at Fort Hood, who got superior elevation by standing on a table so he could fire downward. Shows tactical competence and premeditation.
Is the Clemmons act a diversion for a bigger one? A trial merely, testing responses, as on the area transit system?
"Just asking ...."
Note that both Reynolds and Breitbart have nothing on this and Malkin isn't asking the very politically correct Mohammedan question that I can see, nor are her commenters.

Most importantly: justice has been served, but also: an animal has been put down, the taxpayers have been saved a lot of expense, and the Left has been deprived of another cause to champion. Nothing will bring back the four slain officers to their families and friends, but we can all take some measure of satisfaction in that this waste of human skin will never, ever, rape, terrorize, or murder again.

Does the police department, or do the families of the four officers, or the coffee shop owner have any legal grounds to go after any of the actors who contributed to this horrible tragedy which was so long in the making? (Obviously excluding the shooter himself at this point.) Any lawyers who come to this site care to comment or offer opinions on this?

This may answer the question that we are not permitted to ask.
"Black Muslim Group Celebrates “Brother & Martyr” Maurice Clemmons"

Thanks pagar, it does. And we are permitted to ask it. WE are politically correct, our values are politically correct, our way of life is politically correct. Be not intimidate or afraid. See how the Almighty has just pulled the plug on "global warming." He will do the same on Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism, and sooner than we might think.
"The Messiah" from Hell,
Who deserves a big Bell,
That will ring out the Trouble,
When he's inside his Bubble,
And let the world know, he is Fell.
Justice will have been served when the enemies of the United States currently operating its mechanisms of government are abjured and incarcerated, at least. At the moment, justice is desecrated by their presence at the United States Military Academy, the heart and soul of the United States.

Clemmons had a driver to take him out of the AO and a barista at the Fortza ran when he showed her a gun rather than alert the customers.
Inside help and carefully planned execution?
This was an op generated by a criminal -- probably international -- conspiracy -- probably Mohammedan. At least Black. Definitely covered by Blacks. Probably Mohammedans also. Who gave him medical attention sufficient to keep him on his feet nearly 48 hours after the op in which he sustained an abdomen wound? That had to be an MD with facilities. Who? Mohammedan? Are his "Friends and "Relatives" who covered for him Mohammedan?
Notice the deafening silence from "Leaders of the Black Community," locally and nationally? They are gloating in schadenfreude, just as they did following the Mohammedan attacks on 11SEP01. It's not all Americans of Afro-European descent gloating, surely, but it is the supermajority of them, just as certainly.
150 years after Emancipation and 40+ years after Voting Rights Act and Great Society, with massive "affirmative action" policies and interventions in the interval, what do "Blacks" have to show for the compassion and leg up offered them? "Rap music" and race war.
I feel cheated and betrayed, bamboozled and defiled. I am not taking this lying down.

"When the 911 calls started coming in, officers from Lakewood, Tacoma and other jurisdictions raced to the area.
“I have never seen this many scramble to a particular spot, ever,” said David Gabrielson, 27, who works as clerk at a gas station near the coffee shop.
An apparent hoax came when a man called 911, claiming to be the shooter. Police took the man into custody at a Parkland house, but he was not linked to the crime, Troyer said."
Hoaxers leading police away from the chase David, one must wonder who these people are.

One can be easily swayed to the siren call of the argument that blacks are somehow a failed race, or worse, attempt to arrogate Scriptural authority to base such racist ideas by claiming for them the title of "the Children of Canaan".
But the fault lies not with their lineage (for we are all sons and daughters of that great couple of sinners, Adam and Eve) but rather a broken, bankrupt CULTURE that has been, from at least the days of the Voting Rights Act, if not as far back as the Emancipation and the 14-15th Amendments... engineered to fail.
The Great Society and Affirmative Action only served to exacerbate the "entitlement mentality" and sense of hopelessness, intended by liberals to keep the blacks "in their rightful place" at the bottom of that so-called "great" society, which continues to this very day.
It is too late for any true change in the vein that Obama and his minions want to bring (to say nothing of it being as fault as anything his forbears in the days of LBJ could have thought of).
What is needed is a true conversion, a work wrought by God and His Only Begotten Son, working in the hearts of individual men and women, "save(ing them) with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted (polluted) by the flesh." (Jude 1:23, KJV)

"Hoaxers leading police away from the chase David, one must wonder who these people are."
More evidence of a carefully planned op.
There is only one group of blacks operating in this country with the level of discipline, competence and tactical sophistication evident in this event and that is the several flavors of Mohammedanism which flourish among them, principally from recruiting ("conversion") efforts in US jails and prisons.
The flavor of this one appears to be "Nation of Islam," although a full intel sitrep might show wider connections. I do not have access to one such. In the jails and prisons of the country -- one has to use that word loosely now since so many, including Reynolds, dismiss the country and its Constitution as evidence of "irrational loyalty" -- the several flavors of Mohammedanism recruiting blacks (and also hispanics, e.g., Padilla, but mainly blacks) each has its own accommodations and "chaplain" structures.
John Mohammed and Lee Malvo -- Mohammedan operators who were US Army trained -- were a foretaste of the stream of Mohammedan attacks since 11SEP01, usually by blacks recruited in jails and prisons and certainly always approved widely among all blacks world-wide, steadily rising to a torrent in spate since 20JAN09, the signal that they are empowered to proceed essentially with impunity.
It's too horrible to contemplate and so most avert their eyes. But there it is and it's not only not going away, it's hideousness is rampant and expanding.
seekeronos, that don't cut it, it's dopey. I am a theologian. You don't have to take my word for it, but I am telling you it. Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism antedates LBJ and the Great Society by a millennium and more. The alliance in this country between academic Communism (a/k/a liberalism, progressivism, environmentalism) and Afro-Mohammedan Imperialism, however, dates from the late 1950s and early-to-mid 1960s. That was a marriage of convenience that we see just this week heading, as it had to, to divorce court -- where it will be "a messy divorce," reducing and rendering the country even more that the marriage itself already has.
