Literally, too cool. Jaysus, I wouldn't do that to date an 18 year-old cheerleader at this point in my life. These people must got da love.
Hundreds Wait All Night In 30F Weather In MI To Meet Sarah Palin At Book Signing
Update: The Other McCain responds: Yeah, right. Only if they could use my stomach these days for an awning. And I don't mean that in a good way.
(But they'd camp out for a date with Dan.)

GOP Strategist Roger Stone talks about how, even in his darkest days, Nixon could count on support from 25-30% of the electorate to stand by him, no matter what. The base of support. The people who go door to door - make the phone calls. The ones who give everything to see you win.
Reagan had that (and probably more) in '76, '80 and '84. Obama can probably count on about 25% as well. It remains to be seen if those supporters will be as galvanized in '12 if 1.) they aren't working and 2.) have no money. McCain...had nothing. And it showed. And he still got 46% of the vote.
Other (R)s considering running in 2012 do not have that base of support. They haven't proven their mettle nationally - she has. She's been through all the haranguing, the media shakedowns, everything - and she still walks upright. There's a lot to be said for that.
Now, if (and this is a big IF) she dedicates herself to becoming an expertise on policy issues...she immediately going from being dangerous to liberals to feared. It worked for Nixon. It worked for Reagan. Maybe it can work for her. I am cautiously optimistic.

She's a political nonentity nationally; despite her standing with the GOP primary electorate, over 50% of Americans currently say that they wouldn't vote for her under any circumstances. Sure & certain ticket to oblivion if she's nominated in 2012.

"over 50% of Americans currently say that they wouldn't vote for her under any circumstances"
She has integrity, optimism, strength, courage, sensitivity, is quick to learn from mistakes and three years to show the 'over 50%' not all circumstances are set in stone. Her facebook (ie Reagan's weekly radio show) just picked up an additional 10,000 members in a 24 hour period after she had reached a million in less than 9 months; 3 years at this rate Facebook will need a bigger Facebook.
I am far more interested in 2010; it will be interesting to see how many quality Conservative candidates along the line of Marco Rubio she helps get elected.

And another thing; I think Palin attracts 80% of the population who are sick to death of political doublespeak and MSM Newspeak perpetuated by the 20% who scream Death to America with every breath they take.

PS: what is up with the snotty college brats here in NYC throwing pies at speakers; how comes these spineless indoctrinated twits are so intolerant towards diversity of ideas and the right to free speech? What idiot pays $30,000 per semester only to be degreed in pie throwing.
END TENURE: STOP IVY-INBRED INDOCTRINATING STUPID OCCUPATION!

I'm not waiting in line for the book signing, but I am waiting for my book in the mail. I'm interested to see if Going Rogue will give many Americans the straightforward understanding of her policy views. I'm hoping elite leftist education on "all things policy" is about to meet a worthy contender in the form of many Americans with access to a different policy view. I think she knows what she's doing with this whole index free book and all. It's about access to ideas before being hurried away to the next "feely".
