What I am most thankful for as a blogger, and that's pretty much what I am these days, for better or worse, (ha!) what I am most thankful for is my readers. As I've said, when beginning over 5 years ago, I'd have to subtract my own many visits from my site stats to try and get at how few people were actually reading. I could count them in tens. And not a whole lot of those.
Quite honestly, I hear that I am an established, or reasonably well read blogger today far more than I believe it, or think of myself as one. That isn't a false humility, it's the truth. One thing I do try to do is continue to see myself as just one of millions. It gives me the freedom to speak my mind and, hopefully, connect with grassroots readers as I've always wanted to do. That said, I'd be lying if I didn't say with about 14.5 million visits and 26 million page views over the years, I'm mostly pleased. But I've never stopped wanting to do more. We'll see what the future holds. I'm content with and grateful for the continued opportunity to reach people and influence the news blogging provides today. Lastly, I'm thankful for the other bloggers who send their readers my way.
Enough of that.
Some thoughts on thankfulness from Mother and blogger Dana Loesch.
Michelle Malkin remembers the troops on Thanksgiving 2009.
And an American tribute in video from a good old friend, Richard at Hyscience. I did his banner with his design years ago. lol Along with Ace's. Such shameless self-promoters we bloggers once were. Most of us have learned to just focus on doing good blogging, letting the promotion take care of itself. So, I'm thankful I don't have to do banners anymore. lol How's that?
My apologies to the many friends I did not link.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my much appreciated readers, strange lot that we are sometimes as a whole.

Happy Turkey Day Dan.
Will hoist a cold liquid beverage a little later, in the direction of all my fellow Americans. As we battle the caliphate. Who now have crawled upon our shores ... and are holding the levers of power.
G*d Bless

How can it be that we have a sitting President who (in his own words revealed his Muslim faith) and we are at war with Muslim extremists who have just attacked us again? Now he wants to bring the terrorists from 911 to America to give them a world stage for their agenda? Are liberals so anti-american that they would help alqiada attack us again? They will be putting New York in great danger for another attack. If they hate America that much then they hate the American people. We have to do something to keep this from happening.

Well I can say I am certainly thankful for you being here!!! I cannot begin to express how very fortunate WE are to be able to express any political views WE have....lets spend the rest of the year RESTING because WE will be going to WAR in 2010 and taking back the House of Representatives and watching Pelosi's botoxed face dropping when she hands over the gavel. WE will have the express pleasure this time next year of watching the DISGUSTING & HATEFUL Reid going home and WE will have the pleasure of knowing that Obama will be STOPPED in his tracks!
