Scozzafava Pushing Owens In NY - 23

It seems Dede Scozzafava's integrity can only be counted upon within range of a microphone. Behind the scenes she's pushing the Democrat Owens. I imagine that party change is simply a matter of time, now. h/t TCOT Report.

Liberal does as Liberal is, self-serving, though I imagine she has some hand-wringing, rationalizing whine ready to que up.

During the day Saturday, she began to quietly and thoughtfully encourage her supporters to vote for Democrat William L. Owens.

Ms. Scozzafava finished a distant third in the latest Siena Research Institute poll with 20 percent support of likely voters. Her opponents, Mr. Owens and Conservative Douglas L. Hoffman, garnered 36 percent and 35 percent respectively.

If nothing else, it'll give moron Frank Rich at the NY (High) Timesmaterial for another column screaming about the Stalinists on the Right - that don't actually exist. That this rancid stew of Progressivism has been allowed to simmer over the years before emerging to take political control is the only crime here. Hell, maybe it is time to pull on the combat boots and stomp the vermin out.

The battle for upstate New York confirms just how swiftly the right has devolved into a wacky, paranoid cult that is as eager to eat its own as it is to destroy Obama. The movement’s undisputed leaders, Palin and Beck, neither of whom has what Palin once called the “actual responsibilities” of public office, would gladly see the Republican Party die on the cross of right-wing ideological purity. Over the short term, at least, their wish could come true.

Listening to the likes of Frank Rich, Katie Couric, and the rest of the state-approved media advise Conservatives and Republicans on how to proceed makes as much sense as listening to the Taliban and Al Queda advise Obama on military strategy.

Obama's got a lot riding on this- and of course has no scruples whatsoever.

Doesn't tell us anything we didn't know about Sozzi or the RINO establishment. Has Newt declared anew?

If he offers anything short of a full-throated endorsement of Hoffman, get the jam... he's toast.

This is lose-lose for my conservative friends. A Hoffman win affirms the terrible schism on the right. A Hoffman loss signals that the over-hyped palin-power is just that. The headline "conservative wins in conservative district" is not news.

But most of all, a Hoffman loss seems to mean that the voters of this district will get representation by someone who is actually versed in the issues, and actually lives there. A Hoffman loss is a win for them.

My conservative friends are going to have to embrace the unthinkable: community organizing if they ever hope to regain national governing majorities. Even state-wide majorities are not possible in many states so long as my conservative friends continue to alienate and demonize the very voters they need to win.
