Dayum. That didn't take long. As an aside, if one looks at sales figures for two loyal Republicans, Sarah Palin's Going Rogue and Mark Levin with Liberty and Tyranny, versus Glenn Beck's bevy of books, third party proponents should take note. The path to victory for conservatives runs through taking back the GOP. A third party effort will produce a spoiler leaving the liberals in charge. That isn't an opinion, it's based upon the numbers.
NEW YORK (AP) — Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin appears well on her way to becoming a million-selling author.
"Going Rogue" sold 700,000 copies — a number that includes pre-orders — in its first week of release, according to a publishing official close to the former Alaska governor. The official was not authorized to release the sales figure and asked not to be identified.

"The path to victory for conservatives runs through taking back the GOP."
It depends on how you define victory. If you consider "victory" to be expanding government, more debt, more regulations, more intrusion into people's lives, more laws, and more taxes - then sure, I guess you're right.
Voting Republican is trying to have it both ways - big government without paying for it. When it comes to small government, the Republicans are 100% talk and 0% action. Given control of both houses of congress and the White House they grew government faster than Clinton. The Republicans in congress were "well-behaved" for a whole two years (1995-1997), and we've had one Republican president (Reagan) in my lifetime who was against big government. That's a hideous track record. The best you can say is that they're not as bad as the Democrats - they're not. But they're nowhere near anything that could be remotely considered "good."
Voting Republican is an exercise in denial - the irrational belief that doing the same thing over and over will achieve a different result. With any luck you guys will figure this out, but I'm not holding my breath.

You're right about Beck- he's dreaming, maybe some people need to study what happened when Perot ran.
When you've only got 2 years until the next presidential campaign and the status quo is a train wreck, the way to go is through the GOP- a split Right is the only thing that could cost us 2012, IMHO.
Reagan probably didn't like the GOP all that much in 1976, and lost running on the right in the primary. But he came back after Carter's "performance" made more people receptive to his ideas... and with an even sharper conservative message that changed the Republican Party single-handedly.
Of course now it's time for a remake working-off the same script... only question is who's going to play The Gipper

Has anyone noticed that day by day as Palin is viewed in a series of serious interviews the comments that Palin is dumb, an idiot or a moron are not as plentiful any longer?
If middle America now basically sees Sarah as intelligent and competent that is huge IMHO.
As for to the liberal elites I couldn’t give a rip what they think or say.
