I came upon these recent book tour pics Sarah Palin is posting on her Facebook page. If you're a Democrat they have to give you pause. From the crowd shots to the close ups, what you mostly see are women and teen-aged girls.
If there's any one reason for Democrats to fear Sarah Palin, that's it. She could run as well as an average Republican with the base and still beat them if that sort of appeal is at all representative of her appeal across the population as a whole. It's a potential game changer, made even more so by Hillary Clinton's primary loss.

But ... but ... but they all look like white creationists, or something like that.

She'll test her voting muscle next year.

I have been proven wrong whenever I tried to predict what Mrs. Palin will/ought-to do. She's going to play her own game and as long as she's playing HER game she'll win whatever she wants.

It really is not hard will do. Just listen to her. she tells you exactly what hse is going to do. over and over and over again. I guess most people are surprised when a politican says something then does exactly what they said they were going to do.
On jukly 3rd she said she was going to take the fight for the country nationally. she said she was going to support candidates that believed like she does regardless of party. On july 4th she opened a facebook account and started the fight. She endorsed houffman in NY23. She said she was goign to support pro life causes She has. she says she is going to give speeches she has. she said she would write her book she did in record time. Now she says she is goign to finish the book tour and piviot into the primaries and then concentrate on 2010. I'm sure she will do exactly that. she has stated she will decide what to do for 2012 after 2010. and has stated if the people will have her. That means that if the pools show she has a chance to win she will run. If the peopel say no do not run she won't.
Palin is the simplest politican to read. she says it then does it. Honesty is a rare quaility in a politican i guess

Riehl has this laughable way of trying to make sweeping conclusions about the state of American politics from shots of Palin supporters standing around. It's so bogus. Dan, maybe you could predict future oil prices from the expression on Trig Palin's face, or handicap the Super Bowl based on the color of peoples' scarves in the photos.

Bob you still did not answer the question I asked you about your blog site (if you did Im not able to find it)? Its easy its a yes or no responce? So I'll ask you again do you have a blog? I have noticed your not talking as much crap about Dan today or how bad this site sucks? I would love some of that honesty you demand from us wingers and especially Dan by giving me an honest answer. Oh and if you do have a blog, please link to it?

I haven't bought the book yet because I haven't heard anyone I know say anything about it. Is it a good book? What does she talk about? If it's about the election I couldn't care less, because I'm sure it's all been heard before; if it's policy I'm in!
Posted by: Canerican | Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:31 PM
Watch Bob duck the question. He will either not answer the question, or he will answer, "I don't have to do nothin' for you, and I'm not linking to it because of (insert dumb excuse)"
The irony is I bet Bob get more readers here than on his site.
It's easy, link to your blog. It's time to put up or shut up. Not that I expect you to back up much of what you say or do.

The election controversies take a tiny party of the book, maybe ten pages in total. Most of it, is about her growing up, her family, what drove
her into public service, why she believes that change is needed and not required to be done with a title

The book is 415 pages long. Out of that maybe 50 is about the campaign. the rest is about her childhood, her early years and how those events and her belief in God has led her to the core principles she holds. Her start in politics at the local level, her time as city councilwoman, mayor and gov of AK,
the state of AK politics and her agenda during the time she returned from the campaign (she uses the term the thumpin which is title of a book wrtten by Rahm emmanual) to describe what went on after she returned to AK on nov 4th until she resigned on july 3rd. And her "plans" going forward. It is nothing like the reviews. it is all told in a first person voice. She kept dairies from early childhood till the present and most of the ealry book is taken form those notes. the book is a very good and quick read. No "white papers policy" but it is policy. Policy in the way of outlining core principles and what they stand for like energy independence and her "all of the above" Like putting government back on the side of the people and the policy and efforts to destroy corruptiopn she used to do that. Like her belief that america should be the strongest nation on earth not one among many and the policy of fully funding our military and missle defense to achieve that. So no A,b, c subsection 2 stuff but policy in a way.

The fact that Sarah Palin appeals almost exclusively to crazy, disaffected white people is supposed to scare me?
Posted by: MS | Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 04:28 AM
Seeing as Sarah Palin's positives are only 3% below Obama's should scare you too, if you are an Obamaist. And I never understand why on Earth Liberals use the term White is a perjorative... White people are about 70% of the country... Oh wait I get it, only 39% of Whites approve of the President, therefore you ought to ensure that the term White is negatively connotated, even though you yourself are probably White. Kind of like cutting off your nose nose to spite your face.
ANd thanks for the reviews, I just bought the book new off eBay.

Palin rising in the polls, 0bama sinking in the polls. Maybe that is why the near hysterical response by the dems and their media minions to anything about Palin. Matter of fact, 0bama's Organizing for America, the group that turned out less than 200 to counter the 9-12 protest march, is pleading for its members to raise $500,000 to counter the "dangerous" Palin. MoveOn.org is also raising money to oppose her. With all the lamestream media throwing anything and everything at her, she's not only still standing, she's moving forward, with a smile and a song in her heart.

I'm fascinated that the guys over at Hillbuzz in offering jewels of wisdom while actively establishing grassroot networking to get Palin nominated on the Republican ticket:
"Someone like Michelle Bachmann would be incredible, but our friend insists she’s not even on the long list, let alone the short list for the job. “Remember, Republicans are all about “whose turn it is” and “who has been waiting longest for the job”. There is no sense of timeliness with them, and never any consideration for who would be best to lead the party. They just get in a line and years later it’s their turn to be the nominee or the Speaker or whatever. That’s how Republicans do things, and that’s why they are so beatable usually”.(hillbuzz)
Republicans win landslides when we run insurgent Conservative candidates and we are easily beatable when we run next-in-line Republican candidates.
Reagan, Palin, Rubio are insurgent Conservatives within the Republican party and are able to draw undecideds, independents and moderates while the Romney, McCain, Crist are the next-in-line Republicans who are easily beatable.
We are given jewels of wisdom on how to win by those who are formerly our political opponents, ignoring this wisdom is the fastest path to losing.

Canerican - Unseen does a good review. I wonder why the McCain camp did not tell her story more? Anyone who worked a fish gut line and on a fishing boat while pregnant sure as hell has more in common with the majority of America when it comes to working hard to survive and understanding what it means to live check to check, than does someone who went to an Ivy league school (whose grades we still have not seen or expalined to us as to who paid for it all).

I'm a white guy myself (my background is utterly whitebread WASP, and Texan besides), so I don't see being white as actually a problem, and certainly not a pejorative. I do think, however, that any politician with national aspirations who appeals exclusively to white people, and only to a fairly small minority of white people at that, probably isn't a serious contender, and certainly shouldn't be.
And I will admit that Palin does scare me, because she epitomizes everything wrong with American culture: she is not just ignorant and poorly educated, but willfully and pridefully so, she is anti-science, anti-intellectual, contemptuous of those with actual expertise, vindictive, greedy, absolutely unable to recognize any error or fault in herself, as impervious to correction as a scratched record (a simile which probably dates me), totally convinced of her own virtue, and apparently unable to open her mouth with lying (and she lies about things which are easily checked, and then goes on telling the same lies even when they are exposed as lies). She is either believes that there are actual witches who can cast real spells, or she is willing to pretend that she does in order to curry favor with, pardon the expression, religious nutjobs: there is no other explanation for her even being in the same room with the likes of Thomas Muthee, let alone allowing herself to be prayed over by him in public. The idea of her anywhere near the Presidency is truly terrifying.

Since your ignorance has no boundaries then your personal opinion about intelligence leaves you looking court-jester foolish.
The manner of you rant indicates that you are a RONPAUL!!!! mob member fortunately, for America, Ron Paul will be way too old at age 75 to run for the umpteenth time for President.
For your own intellectual sanity you must learn to let RONPAUL!!!! go, he is too old to run for yet another presidential campaign.

"As we know these people will be migrating to Israel in droves in the next years"
DEO you are totally clueless, rather catatonic brain-dead as to what is happening in Eurasia and the reason why Israel will be receiving throngs of migrants; European antisemitism is as severe as it was in during the 1930's only this time around European Jews are fleeing to Israel in droves.

Palin's opponents have knew her true strengths shortly after McCain selected her for Veep. Internal polling, the kind nobody releases to the public/press told the tale and they freaked out. Then began the scramble for -quite literally- anything they could throw at her.
This came from both the left, and the ostensible right. Some of of it, -some-, had some, -some-, merit; but none of it was the real reason they opposed her. They opposed her because of her truly transformative nature. She is everything Hilary purports to be, while simultaneously being nothing -nothing- that Hilary actually is.
The left opposes her because they have no viable alternative and the 'right' opposes her because she upsets their carefully crafted apple carts of power and privilege.
I do not claim to know all of her opinions, and I do not agree with all of the ones that I do know of; but I know, based upon her verifiable performance in Alaska, that she is a better choice than anything else currently upon the national stage.

The answer to your question, a-squared-plus-b-squared-equals-c-squared? The one having something to do with cosmetic surgery? It's simple: cosmetic surgery is always ELECTIVE surgery. Nobody has cosmetic surgery because they're going to die if they don't. Therefore, it has to remain affordable to people paying out-of-pocket. No strictly-cosmetic procedure is going to be developed that's the equivalent in complexity to something like open-heart surgery or brain surgery. Even something as routine as open-heart surgery costs well over $100,000 on average:
http://www.vimo.com/procedure/General+Open+heart+surgery/other_openheart_ord/heart/browse
Compare that with the average cost for a boob job -- $5,000 - $10,000
http://www.smartbreastaugmentation.com/costs.html
No amount of market pressure is going to reduce something as complex as open-heart surgery to the cost of a boob job. Some manner in which to spread the cost of complex, expensive procedures like open-heart surgery across society -- i.e. health insurance or some kind of national medical plan that everybody pays into through premiums or taxes -- is always going to be necessary to help individuals pay for something like open heart surgery. Same thing for knee replacements, cancer treatments, brain surgery, long-term chronic illness care, etc, etc.
In short, C3PO, you're making a lame attempt to compare apples to oranges. It's a typical disingenuous wing nut tactic.

Perhaps you should worry about what's happened to the Republican Party. Most of it's heroes - Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhoser, possibly even Reagan - wouldn't recognize the party they once belonged to. Those Northern moderate republicans who once helped pass civil rights legislation would now be branded as RINOs and targeted by Teabaggers for primary defeat.
As for Ms. Palin, she's a vanity candidate. She has no desire to actually BE president. She had a much easier job running a state with less than 1,000.000 people and couldn't hack it. Running a country of 300,000,000+ is just a tad bit more difficult.
But Sarah The One does lllloooooovvvvvveeeeee the attention.
