While my Lefty commenters already seem intent on discrediting Palin for not finishing a five k run in Kennewick, WA, it seems Palin exited to avoid the massive crowds there just to see her for a second time after the race. She wanted to get home in time for her family's dinner. Palin ran with a double jogger stroller and spent a significant amount of time meeting people, even stopping along the way during the run, police escort in tow.
Over $45,000 was raised and organizers said it seemed as if the entire nation wanted to descend upon the small town just to get a look at Sarah Palin. Local reports indicate a tremendously positive event and huge success for the Red Cross with no problems reported.
The Waddoupses have been watching Palin's Facebook page for announcements about her public appearances and upcoming Richland book signing. And it was all politics that drew them out early on the bitter cold holiday because "just being near her" was like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Their excitement bubbled over once the Waddoupses realized that Palin and her large family of "Rogue Runners" were approaching just minutes before the race was scheduled to start.
"Let's go," Cynthia Waddoups shouted to her husband, as they joined a rush of people wanting to snap a picture of the former Alaska governor and running mate to Republican John McCain in the last presidential election.
Cell phones and cameras waved in the air as the crowd erupted with cheering and clapping.
"That's going on my Facebook (page)," one woman was overheard saying after getting Palin's picture.
Then a group of people parted ways to let Palin and her extended family walk through.
"We'll be in the back," Palin said as she pushed a double jogger stroller. That's where the best-selling author signed baseballs, T-shirts and copies of Going Rogue: An American Life while hugging fun-run participants and spectators.
Gary Waddoups emerged from the crush of people around Palin with a big smile on his face.
"It was great. I got a really good picture. We didn't fight our way in too aggressively," he said. "It's exciting. There's just something about her, the way that she can articulate exactly the way we feel about the country."
Cynthia Waddoups' wish was fulfilled when she handed Palin two pairs of cashmere/wool socks she'd found in Walla Walla. One pair was for Palin's son, Trig, and she suggested the other pair could go to grandson, Tripp.
Palin immediately put the socks on Trig, then grasped Waddoups' hand and talked with her before moving on.
"She was very nice," said Cynthia Waddoups, who also shook the hand of former first lady Laura Bush during a Tri-City Republican fundraiser.
"That made our day," Gary Waddoups said of Palin. "Her reaction was so genuine. You wouldn't get that out of other people."

The loons grasp at anything, if Palin discovered the cure for cancer, they'd denounce her for putting doctors out of business. I'm surprised they haven't denounced the huge sale of her books as killing trees for profit. They are among the most pathetic of creatures. Their guy is tanking as more and more people catch on to his far left agenda, and the only thing they can do is increase their attacks on Palin.

You're right, greg, the woman simply cannot win. She does anything and whatever it is becomes wrong, evil or stupid. Obama does something and it becomes the most wonderful whatever in HISTORY. It's bizarre. Has anyone ever been so beloved for such nothingness before? I mean, even Mrs. O is being lauded for doing nothing other than wearing a silver dress and having nice arms. You'd think no one ever wore a nice gown at the White House or something. It's disgusting. I keep waiting for the porn music to start and the milk/pizza/cable man to walk on to these news broadcasts for the other half of the porno!
Ah well, I'm glad Palin is participating in things despite the bias. It's the only way to get back at these morons. Keep on keepin' on, Sarah!

Mad Monica
you ask "Has anyone ever been so beloved for such nothingness before? "
The answer is sadly yes. Many times and the majority of those times it does not end well for the human race. Hitler, Marx, Lennin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, saddam, etc. Have all been loved by a large minority/majority of the people and they too could do no wrong in their supporters eyes. Some of that "love" for those leaders like with Obama is due to fear. fear of being sent to a gulag, gas chambers, reeducation camps, being called a "racist" not part of the group etc. Jim Johns comes to mind also. Human history is full of figures such as Obama.
children's fables have been written about them to try to warn children. Like the "emporer has no clothes" "the pied piper" and others.
religions have taboos about people like Obama. Hell its one of the 10 commandments in Jewish/christianity
All of these warnings in our culture against the type of leader that is obama are there for a reason. It nevers end well for the culture that forgets the lessons learned by others.

Sarah Palin is unique in our political culture. Not that there aren't truly sincere politicians out there (maybe not lots of them!), but she has ignited a connection with the People that is extremely rare. I hope she is safe and can translate her strengths into good things for us.

Wonkabout
QUITTERS
Sarah Palin Quits 5K Charity Run, Too
Epic Fail?Yikes, did we imply Sarah Palin was acting like a “normal ‘Merikun” in eastern Washington State for Thanksgiving? Sorry about that! Palin was just being a Prima Donna nutcase, like always.

Wow, DEO you seem to have a problem with coherent thought. That seems to be a common trait among liberals.

Who was the Lieutenant Runner that took over for her?
Posted by: jpe | Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 09:04 AM
Please jpe/DEO, how pathetic. Your type always equates quitting with failure ONLY when it is a conservative or Republican. The left is so afraid of Sarah because she connects with the vast majority of NORMAL people not your wild eyed lefty that is off their medication or taking to much prozac. By normal, I mean those people that work for a living, do not feel entitled, don't need or want the government to be their Mommy or Daddy.
I know you hate this country and everything good about it otherwise you wouldn't be the obvious OBummer supporter.

A previous poster said that he/she would follow Sarah Palin anywhere--even to the gates of hell if need be. That's my sentiment--based on good reason--about Sarah Palin. She is a normal American who wanted to do good things for her town, her state, and her country. She loves her family, accepts people as they are even if she disagrees with them, and seeks to serve God by serving others. She wants everyone to live and be free.
The Democrats and their surrogates in the LSM cannot tolerate a person of her pedigree and ideals. They will try and have tried to hang her on a cross at every turn. She won't let them. (Jesus already did that! No one else need bother!) They will put her through hell. But she's in good company: All of us are willing to go through hell on earth with her. And there's peace and joy and freedom on the other side.
